We decided to stay here for just one night on our way to our final destination, but had I known it was such a beautiful place, we would have extended our stay. Kasteel Engelenburg is a historic hotel with lots of atmosphere which offers delicious breakfasts and dinners. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a spacious and comfortable room in what I believe were the converted stables. It had its own terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens. We will definitely make an effort to come back!

Beautiful room, beautiful warm soft lighting everywhere. Excellent location just several hundred metres from the train and very close to the main square/old town. A lovely place for a drink and to relax, and also so easy to walk from here to everything you need. Really enjoyed Zutphen and the hotel. We were visiting, from all corners of the world, for a family reunion. Hotel het Oude Post Kantoor was the perfect place for us to relax, regroup, and be together. We booked the entire property for our stay, which felt like such a luxury. The owners were extremely accommodating of our fluctuating arrival time and variety of guests (and requests). We truly felt at home! Breakfast was delicious, and everyone was very helpful. Great location- walking distance to all, and simple beautiful to just walk around. Thanks for an excellent stay!

We love, love, love this place and come back to Engelenburg once in a while. The atmosphere is wonderful- a bit of royalty, a bit of safari, a bit of luxury, a bit of vintage charme. Not everything is perfect but this is exactly what it makes the hotel so special.
The restaurant is excellent. I would definitely recommend to dine here. And of course you need to enjoy their terrace with view to the lake and the golf course.
