Amalia’s place feels like home away from home. The place is secure, is in a central and quiet area, clean, and has a private outside area for braaing. She also has beverages for purchase at reasonable prices, which was very convenient. We would definitely stay at Amalia’s place again.

The setting is very beautiful with lush gardens and winding pathways leading to stone floored cabins. The bathroom was huge with both deep bathtub and shower. Mosquito netting was a welcome amenity. Restaurant on-site for easy dining after a long day. Very friendly and helpful staff. Max the dog is great.

The Rundu area is not for sensitive people as the local population is very cruel towards animals. Donkeys’ feet are bound so tight that the animals cannot walk at all and many are bleeding. The cruelty towards dogs is unimaginable and we saw dogs being beaten savagely. The area is very dirty with rubbish everywhere. Generally a very unpleasant area that will not see us again.
Stark contrast compared to the rest of Namibia that is clean and beautiful with kind and hospitable people and well kept animals.

Rundu is a busy crossroads of travelers.
Rundu is a busy crossroads of travelers. Unfortunately due to corruption and mismanagement the town is rough shape and some roads in bad shape.
You can find nearly everything you may need in Rundu.
