Hotels near San Javier

Loved our cabin here, it was right on the river with an amazing view to look at while sitting in the hammock on our porch. The whole complex is nicely spaced out and private amongst the jungle and there is even it's own little jungle walking route you can follow without getting lost! There are options of rooms with private bathrooms but we went for a room with shared bathrooms which were really good and very clean. There is also an educational side to the site about Mayan history and caring for the jungle habitat. We stayed here as we were kayaking the river for 5 days and this was a great place to stay at the start and end as we could begin our river trip from right outside our room! Staff were friendly and they even offered to open up the restaurant for us to have dinner even though we arrived late. I would definitely stay here again and honestly can't believe why it wasn't busier.

quiet and calm with easy to organise activities such as rafting and jungle treks and trips to Bonampac Mayan ruins. The Mayan people who run and own the piece are friendly and helpful and quick to organise what you need. They are knowledgable and polite.

The river behind the room

After being closed for six months Yaxchilan is now open again. This is a good place to stay and/or eat when visiting, but it is still not super recommended to travel and there is no one from immigration if you enter from Guatemala (from Bethel or La Técnica). As tourists, we felt safe all the time though. For convenience you can stop a night here when visiting Yaxchilan. Restaurant prizes are fair and staff was friendly. You can book tours through them.
