The hotel sits right in the middle of a small park, so it was surrounded by threes and a calm atmosphere. It has its private parking and it is always monitored. One of the rooms we were assigned to had an amazing 180° view of the city and nearby hills. This room was a bit chilly but heating worked just fine. The other room was always incredibly warm and cozy. There was a fair nearby but it wasn't a problem in any way. In each floor there are cookies and coffee for the grabs and on our floor we also had a communal puzzle. The hotel has a restaurant, a bar and an open air terrace, all offer good service and food in generous quantities, prices are also decent. There was a pool, but Morelia can get cold in winter, so maybe better leave it for the summer. The area is well located, incredibly safe, quiet, and there are at least 2 shopping centers (restaurants, bars, super, coffe shops, banks) just around the corner. The city center is like 15 to 20 min by cab, but we preferred to remain in the premises, which was incredible. Correlation price-value was definitely worth it. Good for family trips and to have a good rest.
This hotel is situated in the historic centre of Morelia, just 1 km from Plaza de Armas. It features a garden-patio and can arrange guided tours. Free on-site parking is available.

We had a whole range of upsetting experiences during our first day, but, to be fair, the hotel does have its positive sides, so here we go: fairly central location - the main square is about 7 blocks away; free underground parking; excellent wi-fi; the cleaning staff really try their best - we can't complain about the way the room was cleaned; decent shower, both in terms of water pressure and the hot water temperature; the room was warm - we didn't have to use the warm air conditioning even when it was +2C outside.

Morelia is a stunning city. The people are friendly and kind. Speaking Spanish is important as most locals do not speak English.
Morelia is the home to the arts of all kinds. I have been to the symphony, theater, choir performances, all sorts of dancing, lectures, artisan shows, and more. This is NOT a city for a whitewashed experience. If you love the true culture of Mexico, this is the city for you.
In Morelia you will find a plethora of universities, beautiful parks, a large zoo, a planetarium, large malls for shopping, hiking and biking places and artists everywhere. The entire region is jammed with some of the finest artists in the country.

Try to plan to be there on Saturday evening at 9pm to see the wonderful fireworks at the cathedral. Be there early. They only last 5 minutes but they're great.

A historical cultural center with many museums, pink stone Baroque architecture, many outdoor cafes, plazas, good food everywhere. A lively, rather sophisticated city indicative of its many colleges and universities. Spanish Catholic influences with a strong undertone of deep indigenous traditions. Outlying areas with ancient archeological sites and interesting artisan towns. Third largest lake in Mexico.

We enjoyed the main street, the park, the street performers, the aqueduct, the magnificent architectural tours available. We also loved to listen and dance to our favorite band, Musico Vocal Horus, which plays five nights a week at Onix restaurant.

This was not our first visit to Morelia, but it was our first visit since Covid. It is a gracious city with beautiful architecture. Coincidentally it was a holiday weekend, so the historical center was abuzz with activity. This was our first stop on our way to other destinations, but it is certainly not out last visit to Morelia or Michoacan.

Morelia was one of the most interesting and lovely cities I’ve visited in Mexico. We loved the zoo, spent 5 hours there, and were blown away by the gardens and the giraffe encounter. We walked many miles through the historic center, enjoyed restaurants, street performers, the scenery, the double-decker bus tour, and touring and photographing the interiors and exteriors of the many historic churches and cathedrals. We found people friendly to us as Americans, and we felt safe and welcome. Thank you, Morelia, for sharing your beauty, warmth, and culture with a couple of happy Americans!

A good hostel in Morelia for a good price. It is very close to the center. I am a vegetarian and there is a good vegetarian place nearby. The bed was comfortable and had an outlet, light, and an accordion screen for privacy which was unique. The toilets and showers were alright. It is a big hostel with lots of open spaces, but there was nobody there when I was there which was strange. But for one night as a solo traveler, it worked well.
This is a tricky review because the hotel as a whole is lovely. It's old and beautiful and perfectly located, and the staff are all wonderful. The room was as dark as a cave because it was all thick old walls. Yummy morning coffee and so well decorated, literally gorgeous.
Everything was fine, but the pictures didn't tell the story of how small the rooms were. However, the staff was great and the location superb. Seemed expensive to a nice, but modest hotel.
Very nice location to visit all the city of Morelia , we will come back and refer your hotel to our friends . We were like in Spain , even like the Havana Cuba ... Thanks all employees .
Cantera 10 is a stunning historic hotel smack in the middle of Morelia. our room was a work of art with soaring ceilings, huge amounts of space and directly across from the cathedral.
