Male island is just a transit point for exploring Maldives, so I would recommend not to spend more than a day there and look for a hotel on some other island.
We've walked through all Male island for one evening only and it was enough.
Ofc you can get some tours and excursion from the main island to visit exquisite atolls and resorts so it could be a better plan

Concrete jungle, not the tropical paradise I was expecting.
Concrete jungle, not the tropical paradise I was expecting. Super narrow dirty streets, overcrowded and crazy traffic. No normal beaches, just a few sights that can be visited in a couple of hours. It's really not worth more of your time.

The main city is small and there is not that much to do, but I recommend to stay about one or two days and look around the city. It is very different from the resorts and you can see how life actually looks in Maldives. Nice restaurants with sea view.

Male was the biggest disspaoinment!
Male was the biggest disspaoinment! It is az overcrowded concrete jungle, with very little to see or do. There are no nice, clean beaches, only some artificial ones, near the cargo port, but in order to swim in them, you have to be covered up, whish just simply isn't good. 1 day can be spent here, but really isn't worth more of your time.

Male is amazing for all the wrong reasons.
Male is amazing for all the wrong reasons. Small island inhabited by 200,000 people. It is a pocket big city. You can walk it and no need to ride it. Still, the city belongs to the motorbikes. Male hotels have little to offer as the city has little to offer. Immemorable English breakfasts. Paradoxically, narrow streets of a big city provide shade, so needed in this climate.

Helpful and kind staff, pleasant and quick check in process.
Our average size double room was spotlessly clean and well equipped.
We booked it with breakfast but eventually it turned out that we had a too early flight to have it at the hotel. Nevertheless, we were kindly provided with breakfast bags.
The complimentary airport shuttle provided by the hotel is a plus.
Summer Beach Maldives was a perfect choice for one night for us before heading for the island vacation.
We liked how clean the hotel felt and the AC worked perfectly to escape the heat of the Maldives. The staff were so helpful and friendly and having the airport transfer arranged with the reception was amazing and took the stress of finding a taxi. The breakfast was a surprise! Freshly cooked eggs were yummy and their daily dishes were yummy! We also got room service and the food was tasty… the juices were a great refreshment and the chocolate ice cream was lovely!
The hotel is near to the big mosque, 5min from the boat jet, in the main road. The room was ok, unfortunately no view from the window and very noisy from the workers at the other building. Nice roof with great view at the Maldives airport and the sea.
Amazing roof terrace with view over the bay and the airport, delicious food, very spacious rooms, free airport transfer, very friendly people working there. It was a great finish to my Maldives vacation.
