Sanku and his family provided a beautiful, relaxing, clean haven. Slightly outside of the hustle and bustle of the main town (which suited us perfectly) but only a 10 minute walk to the beach through the jungle lanes and town.
Sanku’s wife and mother keep a beautiful home and cooked some truly delicious traditional Sri Lankan food for us. The breakfast is generously sized and different each day.
Sanku was incredibly helpful in sorting surf board rentals and organising transport for us. He recommended two local restaurants, Dahami and Priyanka, which were both amazing food and amazing value.
The two cute puppies are an added bonus, we loved them.
We can’t wait to come back and stay with Sanku and his family again.

This was a great stay with friendly staff. It is a small business so let them know ahead of time if you need early check out etc. the room was clean and nicely designed. The hotel was a five minute walk from hiriketya beach.

Our stay at Dickwella Resort and Spa was the highlight of our visit to the south of Sri Lanka. The location, food, staff, and service were above and beyond our expectations. We made the choice of having breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and I would highly recommend anyone else to do the same. The food is some of the best anywhere in Sri Lanka, especially the fish made in various ways. The stay was made extra special by the attentive and friendly staff and they took every effort to provide us with the best service. Big thanks goes out to all the staff in the reception, restaurant, pool, housekeeping, and maintenance. We look forward to our next stay with you.

I would avoid Chrystal Resort Dickwella at all costs. Venture to any other hotels in the region and skip this hotel. Management was completely unsupportive to any of our needs - we showed up after a long flight to find out our rooms were not available at all and were told to go find another hotel.

Beautiful beach right on the shore of the Indian Ocean, which is always warm as five o'clock tea. Big swing, and a bar on the beach... all you need here is time. Time to relax, time to forget the road trip here, to forget that you have to go back to daily chores, etc. Just swim, sun bathe, sip, repeat!

It's a very calm and chilled vibe. Not many beach boys bothering you. The villagers are super friendly. The beach is amazing. There's just something very special about this place. You have to experience it yourself to know.

Dickwella Beach is quite deserted.
Dickwella Beach is quite deserted. There aren't that many places along the beach but made for a nice walk. Hiriketiya Beach however is lovely and there are plenty of places to sit and relax. The restaurants in close proximity to the beach are nice. Especially Hiriketiya Seafood which served the best food we had in Sri Lanka.

We had an amazing time at secret house. It is in the city centre, but because of the big garden you have no idea you are so close to the traffic. The owner is very nice and helps you with everything. The rooms look new and he is improving them every day. We could also hire his scooter for a reasonable price. We wanted to stay 2 nights, ended up staying 4 nights. Loved it! 10 min walk to the beach of dikwella. 20 minutes walk to beach of hiri.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed very warmly by the manager and the staff members and the exceptional service continued throughout our stay at the Dickwella Resort and Spa. The room and the views were exceptional, and the location is fantastic! The food was delicious as well, and there was a great variation of cuisines at the buffet.
Would definitely recommend anyone to stay at the Dickwella Resort and Spa!
We loved our short stay at Sandy’s Villa. The location is amazing, very close to both beaches Dikwella and Hiriketiya (max. 10 minutes walking distance). We only stayed one night but enjoyed the pool and the perfect ocean view very much. We also made use of the laundry service.
Nice modern comfortable rooms with good AC and strong WiFi. Brilliant location 6 mins walk to Smoke & Bitters and Dikwella Beach and 9 mins walk to Hirikatiya Beach. Perfect stay.
