The hotel is modest, but cozy. It's located in a quite place, but I felt a bit cut off the city there, especially in the evenings because the street is not lightened.
However, the bus stations are near and the location is well connected to the city centre.
The room was okay. I liked that there were very big towels and many hooks in the bathroom.
Breakfast was rich and tasty. What was pleasant is that the staff tried to find out ways to offer vegan food for the guest.

The city is quite beatiful and faithful to traditional architecture which I liked most. The streets were clean and people were friendly. However, it seems a bit out out-of-date in terms of serving at the department stores and bazaars.

Amazing city , You have couple of tourist destination better to plan you day early and travel guide with a taxi would be ideal as most areas are far flung from the city except the parks and museums which are closer to city

There isn't a great deal to do here.
There isn't a great deal to do here. The city has parks and the city centre is neat and tidy, so you can relax. Also November probably isn't a good month, so in the summer the parks will be in bloom. Almost nobody seems to speak English which can be frustrating when you want information about travel, for example. The Visit Shymkent offices are invariably closed (either near Shymkent Plaza or in the Grand Hotel) though if you catch one open, someone will try to help. A trip to Turkestan is just about worth the hassle but arranging transport might be difficult.

Lovely city with friendly people.
Lovely city with friendly people. Lots of cafes, restaurants, and ice cream vendors. It is very hot in summer, but the city is fool of parks and boulevards with trees. It is a great place to explore the south of Kazakhstan, Turkestan is 3 hours away in train.

Lovely, cosy hostel in Shymkent! We really enjoyed the peaceful vibe and atmosphere of the place. Moreover, both me and my boyfriend got sick during our stay and it was just the best place to rest and get better again. Staff was super friendly and helped us out with some problems we had while we were there. (Big shout-out for helping my boyfriend fix his motorbike).
The hotel is new, clean and location is excellent. Walkable to most places of interest. Ample parking spaces.
Breakfast spread was good and food served was delicious. Plenty of healthy choices. Staff, front desk, kitchen and cleaning staff went put of their way to assist. Would certainly be a return customer. Fully recommend to tourists.
