we went to almaty during the winters in february. even the city looked fabulous with snowy roads. the temperature was below -10. people of almaty was also really nice. when they realized we were from india, they were much more pleaser. we had a tour guide named Mr.Sultan who is a local guide and a driver. he took us to so many places like Kolsai Lake, Kaindy Lake, Charyon, Oui Qorugai and many more. he actually sorted down which place to go and which place not to go. he even helped us to get things we could get it for cheaper.
all over almaty was magical place to visit,
we are definetly coming back to see the spring season

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Almaty, and I can’t express enough how wonderful my experience was! One of the standout features of this vibrant city is the affordability of everyday commodities. From delicious meals at local eateries to fresh produce in the markets, everything is incredibly budget-friendly. You can enjoy a hearty meal for just a few dollars, making it easy to explore the culinary delights without breaking the bank.
Safety is another major highlight of Almaty. I felt completely at ease wandering the streets, both during the day and at night. The city has a welcoming atmosphere, and it’s evident that the well-being of residents and visitors alike is a priority. I never once felt uncomfortable or unsafe, which allowed me to fully immerse myself in the culture and beauty of the city.
What truly sets Almaty apart, however, is its people. The kindness and hospitality of the locals are truly heartwarming. Whether I was asking for directions or striking up a conversation, I was met with genuine smiles and helpfulness. It’s clear that the people of Almaty take pride in their city and are eager to share its charm with visitors.
In summary, Almaty is an incredible destination that offers affordable living, a safe environment, and some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem—it's a place that will leave you with unforgettable memories and a desire to return!

It is important to note that there are a few apps to download before you arrive. 1. Yandex translate, 2. 2GIS for maps, 3. Onay if you plan to use and travel by bus (the bus costs 120 per trip), 4. InDriver for using a taxi and always carry cash to pay for the rides. These 4 apps will make your life a lot easier. If you plan on going to the Shymbulak resort for skiing or other outings, get there before 10am to avoid the crazy ques. If you're going to Medeu, the highest ice skating ring, avoid the afternoon and evening sessions unless you're willing to be stampeded and squashed in the que with the locals who don't do queuing. The city is dead and closed before 10am for the most part and the locals mostly only surface around lunch time. If you want to see the lakes or do other tours, avoid panda travels unless you're fine with driving that risks your life and causes the vehicle to break before the tour is over.

Words will never be enough to explain the beauty of Almaty.
Words will never be enough to explain the beauty of Almaty. Be it the snowy mountains of Shymbulak watching through the glassy gondola cabins or the wonderful activities filled Koktobe mountains or the buzzing green bazaar or the historic Ascension Cathedral and the 28 guards monument, you will surely fall in love with Almaty like I did. Do visit in December to enjoy the snow or during the spring - March April May.

Dilnaz and Deniz they coordinate for our buggy tour. The story about the property and the construction of the property was explained by them. Swimming pool is the best experience I got here. Must visit place. Don't miss swiss hotel if your in Almaty
The highest level of service. All stuff trying do their best, same as in 5 star hotel. Quite big rooms, everything new and useful, all works good. Nice breakfast, they changing the menu once in a couple days.
For me it’s one of the best hotels that I stayed in during travel jn Almaty.
This is the best five star hotel that we have visited in Almaty. We have visited 3 other five star hotels, however nothing was better than Dostyk hotel! The room service is excellent, the staff are excellent, the location is perfect, the bathroom has a bathtub and a shower.
The Kazakhstan Hotel offers a decent variety of breakfast options, though predominantly non-vegetarian. The hotel's location is excellent, being very close to the Kok Tobe Cable Car, providing easy access to stunning city views.
