Fantastic place to stay! We had 5 people split between 2 tatami rooms. Our group was vegetarian and they were able to easily accommodate us. While staying here, we visited local attractions including Muro-ji and Akame 48 Waterfalls, and the hosts dropped us off and picked us up from the station. In the morning and evening we went for walks along the local roads and heard many frogs. What a peaceful location, especially compared to the busy cities elsewhere in Japan! Highly recommended if you want to explore authentic country life and beautiful nature.

Clearly a nice new hotel in the area- next to the rest area. It is a quiet one with a lot of local vegetables etc. Not a lot of dining in the area and I mean Iga. Eat somewhere else or know something I don’t know before coming in to sleep. Laundry and everything in the hotel was good. If I had had more energy I would have figured out an outside food and onsen before coming here to sleep. Was a good base for uji and Wazuka. Little expensive considering the location and lack of food/onsen.

The women’s bath was simple but had jet massage, the temperature was perfect to relax in after a busy day.

Nabari is a nice place to experience nature. It is close to other popular cities like Iga or even the big cities like Osaka. Akame 48 is a nice place to visit. You can spend most of the day there but I recommend going early if you are a quick hiker. The waterfalls are beautiful there. The little shops near by also nice to visit to get souvenirs. Getting to Nabari is easy to get to by train if you take the Kintetsu Line. If you want to go to Akame, I recommend taking the bus because walking there will take a long time if you want experience the waterfalls more and are going to stay at a hotel near by. The buses run regularly but check the schedule at the welcome center.
