Breezbay Seaside Resort Matsushima, hotel in Matsushima

Resembling a Balinese resort, the Breezbay Seaside Resort in Matsushima offers massages, beauty treatments and tropical room decorations.

We selected Breeze bay based on the reviews: and it did not disappoint. Although the building is not as modern or fancy as some others closer to the water, it was comfortable and provided all we could want. The facilities at the hotel are varied, and target guest relaxation: we especially enjoyed the private pool. The food in the restaurant was extremely tasty and well presented. The staff are the best feature of this hotel. From the greeting at the front door to the service in the restaurant, the staff are friendly and efficient. For overseas guests, this personal touch makes everything more comfortable. This might seem like a small thing, but the staff were putting up a Christmas tree as we arrived, and the simple pleasure they showed, made me feel very much at home. As a final comment We were very grateful to have a taxi deliver us to and from the JR train station.

パストラル 縁の郷, hotel in Matsushima

Situated in Matsushima, 14 km from Shiogama Shrine, パストラル 縁の郷 features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant.

Check out time was 10:00, but the master told me it was 11:00. I think it was because I had ridden my bicycle over 400 kilometers to arrive there, and he wanted to give me time to rest. I enjoyed the room he gave me and enjoyed watching videos until late.

Hotel Ubudo, hotel in Matsushima

Boasting a garden and a shared lounge, Hotel Ubudo is located in Matsushima and is 900 metres from Entsuin Temple.

A location at the sea with beautiful view. The hospitality is great, staff very friendly. A nice feature is that you get to choose your own yukata. One person in particular, had lived 16 years in Spain, helped is with his English skills and gave us great service. The room was pleasant, the futons comfortable. We had a private bath on the inner waranda. Dinner was exceptional, a real wow factor. Same for breakfast, amazing.

Scenic little town with lots to view. We walked the town and explored all the tourist sights. Took a short boat ride around the bay for 1000¥ ,if you want to sit upstairs on boat you’ll need to pay another 600¥. Main Shrine currently under renovation

    It's amazing.

It's amazing. There's such an incredible amount to do and see. We explored for 5 hours two days in a row in the freezing cold and would do it again in a heartbeat it was so nice. So many restaurants, hotels, gift shops, places of outstanding beauty, museums... amazing.

It is really a beautiful view, with all those small islands covered with pine trees! The region is very prepared for the tourists, including bridge to one of the islands for people that like to walk around the trees! The Zuiganji temple is one of the most beautiful I've seen!

    Very beautiful coastal town!

Very beautiful coastal town! Having two different train stations on each side of the town, makes the getting to/from very flexible and easy. Definitely a must see when visiting Sendai or the Tohoku/Myagi Area.

This is a very nice little town and a nice place to visit - I would go back. Good harbour cruise, nice temple visit - there are three close together. Oh and the castle shown on google maps is FAKE; its not a castle its a private residence.

Matsushima is a tiny place and does not have a lot to offer - also like any other traditional Japanese town it closes down at 6 PM - literally. Most restaurants and shops are closed, the streets atr dark. Not much to do. It is a great place for a short stopover.

An Amazing place with the most beautiful view of Matsushima Bay. The staff was dedicated, very friendly, and helpful; they can speak English too. The hotel has several services like a Private Bath, a souvenir store, a lounge with an excellent view of the bay, and a foot bath, and they offer welcome drinks like matcha and other juices. The room is so good with a spectacular view of the Bay. I strongly suggest this place.

The guesthouse is in a great location, close to the pier and the temple. The room and facilities were exceptionally clean. And most importantly the host is so friendly and helpful! He speaks perfect English and was eager to talk about Japanese culture and listen about ours :) I couldn’t recommend more!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They welcomed us like we are an important guest when we checked in. The breakfast was superb. At first, I thought it was a buffet but it was actually a Japanese set meal served in a private room, much better than expected.
