The room was clean and comfortable. We had a slightly bigger room, and the bathroom was enormous compared to the ones we encountered in similarly priced Japanese hotels before with a full-length tub.
The staff was very friendly, and both the check-in and check-out process were quick and stress-free.

I alread know Kobe very well and it has been my home at one time. Due to reconstruction of the city after 1995 Kobe has faced many restructuring problems so it is not an easy place to live and challenging to get around, but you can always have a fun day out.

Kobe is alright.
Kobe is alright. There isnt as much to do there compared to other cities in Kansai region but its a good place to be in a city and be close to Himeji and Osaka. And having the harbor land shopping area nearby is nice for nighttime activities.

Lots to see and do including shopping malls, The Nunobiki Herb Garden accessed via the cable car, Nunobiki waterfall is splendid, The harbour area is splendid and a super amount of first class cafes, restaurants and bars.
Travel around Kobe is great with a perfectly efficient and effective (and on time) train system as well as good reliable buses.
Cheap, on time travel is such a pleasure compared to the UK.

This visit of ours to Kobe had not been the first one.
This visit of ours to Kobe had not been the first one. This trip gave us the opportunity to admire all the astonishing progress made in this city all these years, especially after the earthquake. Based in Kobe we travelled around (Osaka, Kyoto, Himeji, Roko mountain, Awaji island) ,using the unbelievably comfortable trains and buses. Food was exceptionally tasteful everywhere and by no means expensive

Kobe is very modern.
Kobe is very modern. If artistic and moderne highrise buildings are your thing, Kobe will definitely hit the spot.
If you're more interested in historical Japan, Kobe is a good base. It's pretty close to Kyoto and Nara and on the other side Himeji and Hiroshima. Kobe itself also has the Nunobiki herbgarden and ropeway where you get a very nice view of Kobe and harbour. And, ofcourse, some Kobe beef burgers...

Kobe castle worth a visit, must have Kobe beef while you’re here. Recommend Steakland restaurant, they have a couple of locations in Kobe. Don’t expect to be relaxing for a long evening meal, like every restaurant food is served fast but great tasting steak. We tried Kobe and Wagu to see the difference.

The view from our room was fabulous. We didn't realise we had a balcony which was a huge bonus. It was wonderful being able to sit outside, enjoy the mountain view and Kobe city. The location was good. Easy to get to from the train and we loved that it was at the end of the dock so was quiet. Best hotel we stayed in during our travels around Japan. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone else travelling to Kobe.
Room was excellent, clean and was larger than the usual Japanese "business standard". The larger bed was super comfortable. Hotel is conveniently located a short walk from JR Sannomiya station. Staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English and helped us with our Kobe beef restaurant selection. Price per night was a very good value.
Very handily located hotel, also with (public) car park opposite, perfect for strolling into Kobe and in a lively area. Very helpful and typically courteous Japanese staff. Room was a decent size. Good value.
