The rapidly expanding Jordanian capital, Amman is an economic powerhouse spread over various hills. Atop one sits the Citadel, containing remains of the Roman Temple of Hercules, a Byzantine church and an 8th-century mosque and palace.
Also here is the Jordan Archaeological Museum, and at the foot of the hill is a Roman theatre, part built in the rock. Modern housing blocks surround it, but the most avant-garde architecture is in the developing Al Abdali business district.
The tallest Amman structures will be the Jordan Gate Towers and will house one of the city’s high-rise hotels. International brands of restaurants and bar can be found alongside more traditional cuisine in Amman, and many eateries are in the large Mecca Mall and Grand City Mall, which also has a cinema.
Nearby is the desert-like vegetation of Al Hussein National Park, and the Royal Automobile Museum which features cars of King Hussein, ruler for over 40 years and after whom are named city sights such as the King Hussein Business Park and mosque. The King Abdullah I Mosque has a beautiful blue dome, while Abu Darweesh Mosque at Amman’s highest point is a striking black-and-white structure.
Booking.com’s Amman accommodation includes 5-star hotels, apartments in the embassy district, and cheap hostels, all within easy reach of Queen Alia Airport.
Amman is a bustling city. There's plenty to see, & many nice quiet gardens are dotted around the place. The people are most welcoming to visitors.
The Ampitheatre is unmissable for those who appreciate antiquities.
Some very nice restaurants in the 'Downtown' area, all very reasonably priced.
Amman is only an hour or so from The Dead Sea, but I would personally recommend at least three days at a resort, of which there are a good choice.

Amman has a lot to offer.
Amman has a lot to offer. Center for the tourist spots especially when going to Jerash , Dead Sea, Madaba which is full of history. People are very friendly, accommodating and helpful. I have a thorough check up in the airport maybe because of what is happening. What I don't have like is the way they check my hand carry bag even my money in the wallet was checked. Just happened to me as I observed other passenger too.

It’s super safe to start of with.
It’s super safe to start of with. The people are one of the most friendliest i’ve ever seen in my life. You can discover so much in just a day and a half and taxi’s and the food is not expensive. It’s a chaos in the city but the chaos is controlled.

A great place for foodies, as there are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants with amazing food. Even Fakhreldin which is widely considered the best restaurant in Amman wasn't very pricy. The city is not very walkable but taxis/Ubers are rather cheap, typically very comfortable and come quickly. Amman Citadel is a must see for the city views.

I love this city!
I love this city! I have travelled all over the world and have experience with all known ones.
But Amman is my favorite. I have been here 4 times now.
It counts 6 million inhabitants and therefore is busy. But........ there is never an unsafe.
In fact in other cities I am very carefull. Pickpocketters everywhere. But In Amman you can leave everything unwatched and it is still there. (Do the same in New York, Amsterdam, Paris, Rio ..... :) :) )
The Jordan people are open, superkind and for sure not religious fanatics. In fact I feel ashamed about the western Islamofoob behaviour. I would never advise a jordanian to visit Western countries as I feel ashamed about our discrimination of Muslims.
Amman has many places of interest: The Citadel, The museums, Downtown, Roman theater etc. etc.
And for sure many nice restaurants with great food. For those with weak health. Jordan people are very hygienic.

The hostel is located in the downtown of Amman and easy to reach everything from here in walking distance! The best were the friendly staff - Basil, who runs the reception and also works as a taxi driver for the hotel was the best driver we had in Jordan throughout our whole trip - he gave a lot of useful insight and shared information that we as foreigners needed for the trip. The rest of the staff was also welcoming! I can definitely recommend staying here!
I guess it is the only 5 stars Hotel in Amman, the staff were amazing with the best customer service experience you might find in town, starting from the hotel Manager Mr Douglas, to all the F&B team including Mohammad Saif ( who deserve gold medal ) , the reception team...etc
They have welcomed my duotger with many gifts and love.
The small details make a big difference
Hotel had spacious room and clean sheets. View from the room and dining area was awesome. Olive Hotel had the best breakfast spread of our entire trip in Jordan.
They also have on street free parking which was safe for our rental car.
Hotel was about 10 mins drive away from all the main tourists spots in Amman and downtown.
Value for money. Parking in front of the hotel. 10 min drive from rainbow street. Restaurant with bar. Room size and cleanliness is ok. Do not expect much more for this money. If you are planning a one night stay in Amman, it is good.
A Jordanian breakfast will be served in your room in a big plate. Staffs are very helpful.
All was good, staff very helpful and professional. The facilities were all as described. Excellent breakfast with a great choice, again very helpful waiters. I stayed at other 5 star hotels in Amman and this is the best.
