Palazzo Santori, hotel in Tivoli

Just 200 metres from Villa d’Este and the Court House, Palazzo Santori offers modern accommodation in Tivoli.

I liked the location - it is not in the centre of the town but it's very close to bus stops which is very convenient if you need to travel. Everything is in a walking distance anyway. I could leave my bags there after checking out although it took time to get the approval. Facilites are well kept.

Antica Villa di Bruto, hotel in Tivoli

The view from the room towards Rome was superb, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Andrea was very responsive and helpful and allowed to leave our luggage on the day of our departure, while we went to Hadrian's Villa for the morning and then to collect it on our way back to the station.

Residenze Gregoriane - Residenza d'Epoca, hotel in Tivoli

Featuring an indoor swimming pool, Residenze Gregoriane offers luxury suites decorated in a classic style. Located along the river, these suites provide a central but quiet location in Tivoli.

We liked everything about Residenze Gregoriane. The staff helped us park, walked up with our bags then immediately sat us in an exquisite 16th century mosaiced courtyard with a fountain, bringing us coffee and cold water (rum or whisky was also offered!) while they sorted out our admin and talked us through the map of this gorgeous little town, giving us lots of useful information. We had chosen the Superior suite partly for its decor which was as stunning as I had hoped: I knew that unlike most of the others it didn’t have an outside space and overlook the water but I loved our pretty town view. Comfortable bed, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and enough space for our weekend wardrobes. Remarkably quiet given its central location (five minutes walk from Villa d’Este). Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious with a good selection of pastries, toast, muesli, yogurt, boiled eggs, fresh o-j etc with other options available if you let them know the night before. We didn’t get a chance to use the stunning spa area but other guests warmly recommended it and each guest/couple/family can book it for their exclusive use. The staff were always around and keen to welcome us back each time. We didn’t expect beforehand that we’d return to Tivoli but we would now love to, largely based on our experience at this delightful hostelry. Highly recommended!

La Mensa Ponderaria, hotel in Tivoli

Offering city views, La Mensa Ponderaria is an accommodation set in Tivoli, 31 km from Porta Maggiore and 31 km from Sapienza University of Rome.

It fitted us perfectly, we wanted to experience Italy! The town is what we had hoped for the room loved it right down to the church bells ringing throughout the evening. Nothing like watching Doc Martin in Italian with church bells drowning it out. If you don't like stairs then not for you a decent climb but what ever you do don't miss a meal in the little restaurant down stairs

    Well worth the visit.

Well worth the visit. I stayed there to see Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este. Both were great, but Adriana in particular. I also liked the feel of Tivoli; despite having fairly famous visitor attractions (there is also Villa Gregoriana, although I did not explore that), it has a very "local" vibe.

Words cannot explain how much we loved Tivoli!

Words cannot explain how much we loved Tivoli! We were voyeurs in this gorgeous town; authentic Italy! We woke in the morning and sat in a piazza, eating the most delicious croissant and sipping a cappuccino as we watched the simple, beautiful life the locals enjoy. I would recommend this city to everyone! We only stayed one night and I wished we were there for three! Please, please, visit Tivoli! So much to see and such unique and wonderful diversion to Roma!

Great access to town and countryside.

Great access to town and countryside. Tivoli has lots of character and amazing views, plenty of places to eat and shop, and to immerse yourself in true Italian culture. I'd recommend the Villa d'Este and Villa Adriana (Hadrian's Villa), both of which can be done in one day, although allow more time for the latter, and bring a packed lunch as there are no catering facilities.

Tivoli is a great town outside of Rome. If you are looking for old character, charm, and beautiful gardens, you have found your spot. Food was great at all locations. I would recommend spending a lot of time Villa di Este.

The park of Villa Gregoriana has stunning views of the waterfalls and is a must natural attraction when visiting Tivoli. Villa D'Este is a magnificent example of the Italia Villas of the Renaissance, with its beautiful gardens and many fountains. These two locations and the overall historical city area are easily reachable all within walking distance. The historic downtown also offer many eating alternatives. Villa Adriana is one of the most majestic archeological sites of the Roman Empire, truly impressive in its scale and content. Plan for a three nights stay in order to have two full days to visit the city.

Wonderful area to explore and use as a base to visit Rome.

Wonderful area to explore and use as a base to visit Rome. Fly into Ciampino. Public transport and parking is good. Prepare to walk up hill on occasions in town. Villa d'este well worth a visit BUT beware of payment on entry. (See Tip) Driving can be either exciting or challenging. Make sure if you go on the toll roads you understand how they work and how to pay. Local food is really reasonably priced if you choose well. "Botega del Grano" is an excellent choice in Tivoli.

The apartment was clean and very cozy with all the commodities for a shorter or longer stay in the very center of historical Tivoli. The owner was very attentive and even came to pick me up by car at the station. I had the chance to stay at his other apartment as well as there was a problem with some strange smell. I can highly recommend both apartments, I will surely return.

Beautifully refurbished old palazzo in the old town of Tivoli. We had a spacious room and bathroom with small balcony. Short walk from Villa d’Este and Villa Gregoriano, and many restaurants. Host was exceptionally kind and helpful, and collected us from the station on a very wet evening.

I had a great stay here and am so glad I decided to spend a night in Tivoli rather than just visiting on a day trip from Rome. The owner was friendly and communicative, the room was well equipped (including a kettle!) and the breakfast was perfect.
