Excellent location - very close to the walking street and to Porta Modica. Clean room, comfy bed and very supportive staff. Excellent view towards the city, the sea and Etna. The breakfast costs additional 10 euro per person, and I strongly recommend to get it, as abundant and wonderful. Additional bonus if you have good weather and get your breakfast at the roof-top terrace.
Located at Taormina Mare, the hotel offers an enchanting view over the Bay of Naxos and Cape Taormina; a magnificent panorama that can be admired from each of the guestrooms and from the restaurant.

The view, the facilities the staff were perfect. The breakfast was the best we sampled in Italy and it had a wonderful fully stocked bar. The rooms overlook the sea and beaches and just a short walk to the cable car to take you to the old town of Taormina. We were disappointed that we only booked one night. We will certainly be back and will stay for a minimum of four nights as there is so much to see and do in this amazing town.

Ancient Greek theatre is stunning, as are the views from the hill town of Castelmalo (quick bus trip up and could walk back down to Taormina).
The ambiance at Piazza IX Aprile (public square) at sunset and into the evening hours was just magical (at least in January when fewer people were in town), with people relaxing, admiring the views and with children playing, surrounded by one of the most charming public spaces.
The Villa Comunale public garden was also very worthwhile, also with stunning unobstructed views of Etna.

We visited Taormina in the beginning of November 2024 but the town was still extremely busy with tourists. Taormina offers several nice shopping streets, a nice park, cultural sites, not to forget the beach area (that we did not visit). Taormina's centre is packed with nice terraces and an enormous choice of restaurants. A great place for a two day visit.

Tourist trap
Tourist trap
Impossible to make your way into the city if you travel with car. Roads are impossible, there's no parking and honestly the city is just quaint. Be ready to get a headache trying to find the parkings or get a fine and to walk behind a horde of humans on crowded streets.
Booked 2 nights, left the first one

Great for exercise, as it is very hilly, and walking is really the best way to get around. Plenty of good restaurants, fabulous sea views. It is a very relaxing small town, with a lot of tourists of course, even in November when we were there.

Taormina was not the highlight of Sicily - I found it overrated and very touristy but it does has a fun Monaco decadent kind of vibe if you like that bit of bling, and was a good base to go on up to Etna

There are two parts to Taormina really - the historic town set high up in the hills/mountain area facing the sea and the beach area which if you are staying in the town can be accessed on foot; vehicle ; or cable car. The historic town is very pretty, chic and very busy - arguably over commercialised. The beach area below the town is the prettiest part of Sicily that we visited - we also went to Catania; Siracusa; and Noto.

Beautiful Hotel situated on a cliff. Surroundings was magcal. Staff in reception and breakfast area were friendly and welcoming. Small parking wich is organized effectivly by the staff. Short stroll (upwards) to Taormina centre. 10 minutes walk (upwards) to Taormina Bus Station. Book shuttle if you want to visit Isola Bella or Mazzeo Bay. Wiew from hotel is to die for. Giardini Naxos and the bay at night is worth it all. Hope to be back at Bel Soggiornio, best from Norway.
Excellent hotel with superb all round facilities, including private beach.Staff, particularly reception were English speaking and very helpful. The free courtesy bus to and from Taormina is a great extra as hotel as prime seafront position but outside of Taormina centre.
Restaurant excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Staff there were excellent.
Amazing sea views from hotel rooms and restaurant, the hotel is standing virtually on the beach, very helpful staff & great quality of service, great location in terms of proximity to the train station, Taormina, cable car, etc. Having our own crag on the beach was an unexpected bonus! Breakfast and lunches with amazing sea views were great!
This was such a perfect hotel - the perfect location near the old town and the top of the cable car down to Mazarro. Beautiful amenities (it felt like a 5 star hotel) and wonderful staff! The artwork around the hotel was beautiful and quirky and really gave it a boutique hotel feel.
Fantastic boutique hotel in Taormina. We arrived during a heavy storm and the staff went out of their way to set us up for the night. Beautiful room on a high cliff overlooking Taormina. Great Breakfast. Will happily stay in this hotel if we ever find ourselves in Taormina again.
