Pienza is a must visit if you want to experience Tuscan country side. It is a beautiful little town. Would recommend staying overnight rather than a day trip. The place looks gorgeous at night and early morning.

We had some amazing meals Trattoria La Buca delle Fate, Ristorante dal Falco, La taverna di Re Artu (sweetest and nicest couple who own this place), Piccolo Mini caffe was a great find and had a great melanzana and one of my favorite meals was Trattoria da Fiorella.

Pienza is a beautiful & historic small Tuscan hill town...
Pienza is a beautiful & historic small Tuscan hill town situated in the Val D'orcia and close to the wine towns of Montalcino and Montepulciano. It's much quieter than some of the famous Tuscan towns like San Gimignano, Volterra or Montepulciano but certainly as interesting. Plenty of restaurants for eating, and the town has a beautiful balcony overlooking the valley and Monte Amiato, great for strolling in the evening. What I particularly liked as a slightly mobility-impaired visitor is that the town is built on a level hill with few inclines.

Wonderful little town, not so crowded but much nicer than other hyped destinations like Siena or San Gimignano. Lot's of plants on the street,, endless restaurants, that's exactly what we like. Also e-Bike Tuscany by Steffi is recommended to try. Scenery is unbelievely amazing.

Pienza is small but has an excellent selection for dining.
Pienza is small but has an excellent selection for dining. Sight seeing in town is somewhat limited but affords terrific views over Val d'Orcia. If you like Pecorino cheese, you have to visit the shops in Pienza. Quick bite, try Pizzeria Pummaro near gate into old center. For charm and quality meal try Pane Vino & Zucchero. For all round the Trattoria la Buca Delle Fate is good. For a good hike outside of town, don't stop at the spot where they shot the Gladiator scene, keep going.
what a place! we had incredible two nights here. Beautiful panoramic views over the val d'orcia facing the sunset. The whole team was very welcoming and kind but the real discovery was the dinner in the restaurant - it was incredible! one of the best food experience we had during our 2 weeks trip in Italy. we would definitely come back again
Very good country house, located at a high site where you will be able to access the panoramic view of the Tuscany plain. Driving will be the most ideal way, but you could also take a taxi from Pienza and will take around 45m.
All in all, a highly recommended place. The owners are very friendly.
Beautiful tuscan hotel with its own olive plantation and a restaurant that makes delicious pici aglione and the best pumpkin soup. It was very central and was our base to explore Tuscany with visits to Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, La white Balena, Val dorcia etc.
The Hotel is just few steps away from the historic town of Pienza. I love the comfort of the place. Many restaurantas near the area and it has even a restaurant in the hotel itself. Breakfast is good as well.
Perfekt small B&B in the center of Pienza, nice room and bathroom, also lovely terrace
Elisabetta took good care of us with restaurant recommendations and gave us the best breakfast we had sofar in Italy
