The hotel is in a great location. 5 minute walk from the main street. The bus stops to Pittilongu and Porto Istana beaches are over the railway track which is around a 5 minute walk so really handy. The pool area is nice with beds but these are in the shade from around 3pm. The staff are friendly and really helpful
The breakfast has plenty of choices. Pastries, fruit, cereal, eggs etc. The coffee was great too.

Olbia is all about the sea, and what a glorious turquoise sea it is. As the gateway to Sardinia’s stunning Emerald Coast, this down-to-earth town is often overlooked in favour of the more glamorous resorts. However, it does have attractions of its own.
The simple Basilica of San Simplicio dates to the 11th century and the Church of St Paul the Apostle is also medieval. The National Archaeology Museum houses Roman ships, as well as prehistoric artefacts from the surrounding area.
Sardinia has a wealth of prehistoric structures and one of these – the Tomba dei Giganti Su Monte‘e S’Abe – is near Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport and medieval Pedres Castle. Across the bay is Sa Testa Sacred Well, dating to at least 1200 BC.
Along the coast in Pittulongu are the real attractions – fantastic, unspoilt beaches from where you can see rocky Tavolara Island, a popular diving site. In summer, boats sail there from Isola Bianca Harbour, the arrival point of ferries from the Italian mainland. The harbour’s fishing boats are responsible for the fantastic mussels in Olbia’s seafood restaurants, some of which are amid bars and shops on Corso Umberto – the locals’ favourite passeggiata spot.
The Olbia accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury spa hotels, apartments near the beach and cheap B&Bs.
The old town is charming. However, the rest of the area - not so much. The water in the bay is quite polluted due to the intensive ferry traffic. The air is polluted as well due to the airport nearby and the extensive and chaotic car traffic. Most of the area around the old town looks poorly developed. The pavements for walkers are either absent or an afterthought. Most of the coastline within the city limits is very dirty and swampy.
So this city is rather a gateway/purgatory on your way to the beautiful places of Sardegna. Do not waste your time here, just rent a car or a boat and go exploring right away.

Was only there for one night stop over so visited only for an afternoon and evening. Went to a nearby beach and walked around the downtown city area. Fairly easy access to beaches with local transport and with a very pretty city area with lots of restaurants, gelaterias and, what it looked, good contemporary fashion shopping for both men and women. Will come back again.

Olbia is a perfect place to stay, close to the airport and port. Interesting Historic Old Town, plenty of restaurants. Ideal base to drive to the resorts of Costa Smeralda and the many beautiful beaches along the coast to San Teodoro, Sardinia is an Island of natural beauty, not heavily commercialised and not densely populated.

We stayed in Olbia for two nights when we arrived in Sardegna and three nights when before we departed. Olbia has all the services available you need including banks, supermarkets, restaurants, and green spaces. The city center has many shops and is clean and nice to walk around as traffic is not permitted during peak hours. There are numerous archeological sites and beaches within an easy drive from the city. The buses and trains run regularly. Very nice outdoor market on Tuesdays near the train station where you can purchase fresh local vegetables and fruit, meat and cheeses and souvenirs. There are several historic churches in town. The airport is small but well equipped with a variety of food options, drink and shops. Both arrival and departure went well.
Lovely friendly staff with helpful recommendations. Having the free parking is definitely a bonus in Olbia. Very relaxing experience and felt you could duck in and out of the old town and out of the heat to the hotel as it was so close to everything. Great bars and restaurants around, felt the standard generally in Olbia was very good when compared to Alghero.
All perfect: the address, the house with S. Cristo, the room, the view, the location in the city center and nearby the church breakfast & last but not least Alessandra and her hints. The restaurant in the same street and the recommended ice cream - Olbia was a warm welcome for us to Sardinia. Rest, Rose
Breakfast (and breakfast area) was quite small, but everything was fresh and tasty. Hotel was located in Olbia city centre, with many restaurants just outside the door. Also no problems taking local buses to beaches with a close distance from the city, like Pittulongu, Bados, La Saline and Porto Istana.
This place is awesome and we had great four days here! Directly to the beach, modern & lovely. Everything is completely new and clean! It was our first stop at Sardinia and we appreciate all recommendations from our lovely contact Laura! Very helpful, thank you so much!
