The property is lovely with beautiful views into the Tuscan hills. The hotel is spotless, very clean and well appointed with thoughtful touches throughout our stay.
The breakfast was excellent with lots of hot and cold options, and the desserts, we didn’t leave hungry, we were full until dinner.
Excellent service at every corner of our stay from the front end staff to the breakfast staff. I have to say this was one of our favourite places we stayed in Italy based on the level of service alone, but those thoughtful things throughout our room where we really felt like valued guests.

The location of the hotel is perfect, it is an uphill but easy walk to anywhere in town. The view from the property overlooking the valley is stunning. I found the staff to be very friendly and Alessandra at the front desk was extremely helpful.

The room was fantastic. Lots of space and a small bottle of wine and bag of biscotti upon arrival. The restaurants were both wonderful. The tour of the winery and wine tasting was fun and informative.

Location in Montalcino was great everything was walking distance and there was paid parking nearby. We arrived late and Nida was very attentive. Rooms were good size with ensuite bathrooms. We went mid september so temperatures were mild…Rooms were clean A/C was adequate but I don’t know if they will cool enough in hotter weather.
Breakfast was very good. Great property! Would definitely stay again and recommend.

The friendly staff, the amazing views, the whole ambiance.
Set on a hill overlooking Val d’Orcia, Castello di Velona Resort, Thermal SPA & Winery features a restaurant and a spa center for an additional charge.
Amazing place to stay. Good location, good service.
Beautiful Tuscan town. But the two main churches are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, if you can believe it... Better stay in Peinza or Montepulciano. But Sant'Antimo Abbey, 10 kms away, is a world wonder.

Montalcino is a wonderful little town overlooking one of the best wine regions in Europe. For me, this region has the best wine you'll find as they care about their grapes to a much higher standard. It's not touristy which means you get more authenticity. The food is incredible, people welcoming, and you're close enough to travel to surrounding towns with ease.

Montalcino is a quiet hill town that we love returning to often. We love walking all around town. A 4 hour hike gets you to Sant' Antimo Abbey and then you can take the bus back to town. We love eating at Il Moro and at Osteria di Porta al Cassero as well as Re di Macchia. Great town at the winter holidays!

We stayed in Montalcino two nights, which was about right for people who like wine but aren’t fanatics. Drove all over, got lost, went to Montepulciano (very crowded, steep and hard to get to—was very glad we stayed in Montalcino instead!) enjoyed the Abbey de Sant Altimo south of town, not overrun by people.

a wonderful town for wine & food lovers. you can drink excellent wines for far less than they cost in the States. we also found excellent restaurants. the ambiance is really nice here.
in particular there is an enoteca with over 100 wines by the glass or taste and will ship the wines to you that you would like to buy. we easily found 3 cases to send home with free shipping!

The location and in particular the view from the hotel terrace are stunning
Breakfast was good, stuff very helpful. The location of the hotel on the edge of the little town is perfect -
Allows you to drive up to the hotel and park your car.
Montalcino is charming, the perfect location, to experience the beauty of Southern Tuscany - it also has various restaurants, some of which are excellent and reasonable; again the hotel recommended two very good ones.
The hotel is very well located, you can walk everywhere. Our room was very nice with lots of space. The view from the terrase and pool is amazing. The breakfast was good but they could add some warm food like scramble eggs.
Breakfast is definitely a highlight of this hotel. Great choice of hams, sausages and cheeses. Fresh fruits and great pastries. The hotel is also a winery - one of my favorite producers of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino.
Room is big, clean, I like the room but I need a kettle and coffee bag. The road to hotel is a bit hard to find and no good for driving. Around empty and quiet, I don't like it but the view is nice .
