This place was a dream come true. We stayed for 5 nights and did not want to leave! The staff treated us like family and the on-site restaurant was out of this world. We ate there multiple nights in a row and Ricardo was so knowledgable and friendly. He selected some excellent wines for us from the region and was very attentive. I brought my small puppy and she was was welcomed all over the property. The private beach was heavenly and the steps leading down to the ocean was serene. It's surrounded by a small wooden deck with pool chairs and beach side service. We enjoyed several rounds of apertifs and appetizers. Our ocean view room was unreal with the window opening up towards the sea. The A/C was strong and they even have complimentary water on the back deck with a small ice machine. We highly recommend renting a Vespa to get around the island, Enza's was inexpensive and they were friendly people. We will be back, thank you Ricardo and Letizia for your hospitality and recommendations!!!

A wonderful stay! It is a very hilly island so be sure to catch the bus after getting off the ferry as it will stop in front of the accommodation if you tell the bus driver.

Really nice boutique hotel walking distance to the port. In a wonderful old house with spacious rooms and high ceilings. Nice breakfast in the garden. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. I have been to Salina several times in the past and this was my favorite stay.
Featuring Eolian-style architecture, Hotel Mama Santina is set in several houses with terrace, balcony or patio. The resort offers views of Lipari, Panarea and Stromboli islands, and a free-form pool....

Rinella in June was very quiet with not many restaurants to choose from.
There was one clothes shop, one grocery shop and one tabbachi.
If you don’t have a car, ferry, taxi or Citi bus is the only way to get about - or hiking of course. The bus I think is cheapest but we didn’t use it because we were mostly island hopping. 10 minute ride on ferry to Santa Marina Salina seemed expensive for the trip but I think it gets more expensive at certain popular times of the day.
This is a quieter, more remote place to do the hopping (with the extra 10 min journey always tagged on the end from Santa Marina) so if you want a little bit more buzz choose one of the other islands or Santa Marina.
Personally, we liked the vibe on Vulcano and loved Stromboli. (Stromboli is probably not the best base for island hopping though as it is the furthest one away). Lipari is big and bustling and didn’t feel like island-life but if you like that sort of thing, it’s a great base.
On the whole we enjoyed our choice of base at Rinella. It was a good ‘getaway from it all’ place, where we were forced to do extremely little- when not venturing.

Mariella and Carlos are friendly and obliging hosts and their home is an historic house with a special history and unique charm that's been in the family for generations. It was a pleasure to meet them. Leni is a little village and one gets to know the locals a bit in a short time. I ate at a new little kitchen close by run by Enzo and it was homely and delicious. The local wines are wonderful and the capers and lemons! There are some lovely walks nearby. I would love to stay longer.

Room was very comfortable.
A quaint hotel in a beautiful area of the island, Rinella. Very tranquil and relaxing. Monica, Rosa and Marco were exceptional with doing as much as they can for you to make your stay at their impeccably clean hotel, a great one. Monica's home made goodies added a special touch to the breakfast on the terrace with a great view! Highly recommend Hotel Principe di Rinella.
