FAQs about hotels in Como
On average, 3-star hotels in Como cost $109 per night, and 4-star hotels in Como are $231 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Como can be found for $987 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
At the southwestern tip of its beautiful lake, Como has wonderful views of the surrounding Alps. A cable car runs up to the village of Brunate, where you can see Switzerland on the opposite side.
The peaceful location is a favorite with celebs, but the town has been around since Roman times. In fact, 2 of its most famous sons – Pliny the Elder and Younger – are commemorated in statues on the façade of the 14th-century cathedral. The next-door Broletto dates to the previous century, and the remains of the medieval walls and Castello Baradello are even older and sit on a hill overlooking the town.
Much more modern in style, the Casa del Fascio was built during Mussolini’s rule. The streets between here and the waterfront are packed with shops, bars and restaurants, and Lake Como boat trips depart from the small marina.
The neighboring park houses a temple-like museum about Alessandro Volta (another former resident), and around the shoreline is elegant Villa Olmo which looks across landscaped gardens to the water’s edge.
The Como accommodations on Booking.com include luxury lakefront hotels, centrally located B&Bs and cheap apartments near San Giovanni Train Station, with direct services to Milan.
I loved Como! It was a lovely place full of amazing shops and restaurants. I especially like the marina and lake areas. I went in January and it was cold but still beautiful. It would be amazing when it's warmer.
We took a ferry to Bellagio, but almost everything was closed. And the ferry ride took 45 minutes and was rough. We both ended up seasick and took the bus back.
A drive around the lake is fabulous. On the east side are beautiful villages with places to stop for coffee and food. On the west side, there are many very long tunnels. After that it is very scenic. If you drive beware of the buses. They honk when they are going around corners. Get tight to the wall. It's scary!

Amazing city. Worth the trip.
Amazing city. Worth the trip. The views and the Funicular were great. We did a small food tour which was also lovely. The city is very quiet at night but we did not explore Bellagio. Enjoyed our time. Book a hotel and room with a view. It's definitely worth it.

Como is a lovely city/town that has a lot to offer!
Como is a lovely city/town that has a lot to offer! We took the cable car up the mountain to get an amazing view of the lake and other surrounding mountains (€6.60 each, return). We walked around and shopped and enjoyed the christmas markets.. there are excursions and boat rentals, cruises and hikes around that you can also fill up an itinerary planning!
The food is AMAZING. We highly recommend Mass Wine Bar. Phenomenal.
The people are so friendly (we were in venice for two nights before coming here and we did not have a great experience with the people/service/food so this was refreshing!!)
We are sad leaving, stay here for at least 3/4 nights.
Enjoy the magic of como✨✨

It is so beautiful. Not many times can you say that a city centre is wonderful.
So many little alleys and lanes to explore. Great little restaurants. One small warning.Beware of excessive no warning cover charges. Easlily fixed by checking before ordering a meal.
The lake and all the villages in the area are fantastic

The hotel is in a perfect central location within Lake Como. The rooms are well appointed, clean & tidy with all amenities you may need for a short stay. The staff are friendly & helpful. Lake Como is a very beautiful, walkable city plenty of places to eat & at this time of year great Christmas Mkts. Highly recommend Albergo Firenze for your stay in Lake Como.
The room was small, but it was fantastically placed to have a superb view of Lake Como.
I'd advised the hotel that the booking was to celebrate a special event, and they left complimentary Prosecco in the room - a nice touch.
Breakfast was good, and the coffee was wonderful.
Would definitely recommend.
Great location right on the lake and easy access to major attractions and pier to other locations on the lake. Very good restaurant attached to the hotel and also great places to eat around the place. Quite close to couple of train stations in Como as well.
Location is good and accessible for traveling from bus station, check in to hotel and within walking distance to ferry terminal and heading to Lake Como. The owner is friendly and informative to share us travel tips.
