love this place. Stayed on a few occasions now. it's very clean. Spacious rooms and comfy beds. Breakfast included is a good deal, hot tubs and steam room available if you need to relax after a long day.
Close to the national park and plenty of other great locations to visit. Would definitely return.

I only wished we could have stayed longer. We just stayed for one night on our last day in Iceland before heading back to the airport. The host was easy to reach and the apartment was very clean and comfortable. We ended up finding a gem of a Viking themed restaurant nearby and although a bit cheesy, it was 100% worth it! Great location while driving the ring road.

Lovely, cosy cabin/cottage with all the facilities you could wish for and very tastefully decorated. Akurgerdi is in a great location with amazing views, close to all the amenities & shops of Selfoss (10 mins drive away) and golden circle highlights. A short walk/drive to the neighbouring viking restaurant Ingólfsskáli which is a must if you stay at Akurgerdi. Our host Sabine was very helpful and informative even to the point of telling us when the Northern lights were making an appearance. The only downside is that we weren't able to stay longer! Would definitely recommend and would love to be able to stay again.
