Large and spacious house with well equipped kitchen and large upstairs bedrooms. Great parking for drivers. Nice outdoor sitting area. Host was very responsive and supplied us with a good collection of food for breakfast and snacks. Location is good base for exploring Galway and the Connemara peninsula.

Lovely village, friendly people and close enough to Galway...
Lovely village, friendly people and close enough to Galway City. We had a night out at Powers Thatch Pub and the food and service was excellent. The live music was a bonus, thoroughly enjoyed the Irish music.

This was a great place to explore the surrounding areas.
This was a great place to explore the surrounding areas. It also has a castle in the area and an association with the film The Quiet Man. It is a friendly town with 2 supermarkets and a number of places to eat.

A cute small town with nice restaurants and cafes.
A cute small town with nice restaurants and cafes. A few nice shops. Nice place to stay I'd you're traveling around Connemara. It's about and hour to Kylemore Abby as well as to the ferry or airport that gets you to the Aran Islands. Definitely work a stop if you have some time. Powers is a wonderful pub and restaurant.

Good base for touring Connemara and Mayo. No meals in Hotel.
Good base for touring Connemara and Mayo. No meals in Hotel. We ate our evening meal at pub/restaurant across road from Hotel. I can't remember name but it had a thatched roof and food was excellent.

Lakeside House was just lovely; warm, clean and comfortable. It had all mod cons, well kept. Great location for exploring Connemara. Jackie was easy to contact on the phone and had left lovely treats for us on arrival. Games and books available in the house, the stove was easily lit and made a lovely atmosphere. We eat dinner on the patio two nights which has an amazing lake view. . We really enjoyed our week and would highly recommend a stay here. .
Had a wonderful stay! Staff were lovely. Had dinner in the Cafe downstairs, the vibe was great. They also served alcohol, which meant we could relax for the evening and not worry about finding another place to have drinks. Also got a free pint of Guinness with my meal, for being a guest! All in all a great place, in the centre of Oughterard, will definitely return!
Great location to kick off exploring Connemara, The Maumturks, and The Twelve Bens.
B&B is clean, quiet, and well managed. Room was clean and comfortable, came with everyhing needed for a comfortable stay. Does what it says in the tin!
