Hotel Genggong, hotel in Candidasa

Set on the beach in the famous Candidasa diving area, Hotel Genggong features an outdoor pool with a relaxing terrace and garden. Rooms include free Wi-Fi, a seating area and balcony.

What a delight! Stayed in a deluxe sky view room, the room was very spacious and the view phenomenal. The king size bed was very comfortable and smart tv in the room a bonus. Some Fixtures and fittings in the room could do with an update and some a detailed clean but very Bali traditional and on par with other properties of this scale I’ve stayed at in Bali. The aircon in my room was dripping water and before I had even reported it to reception the housekeeping team had spotted it and maintenance were straight onto it fixing it promptly and the lady from reception even came to let me know that they were in my room fixing it while I was at the pool. Breakfast was simple but all you need, ate dinner in the restaurant one night and it was nice, lots to choose from on the menu. Was close enough to lots of choices for restaurants etc but is not located directly on the main road and need to navigate a local back road to access hotel it was not far but need to keep an eye out for motorbikes and cars as there is no foot path. All in all a wonderful stay and would recommend for a relaxing few days.

Jepun Didulu Cottages, hotel in Candidasa

Situated 10 minutes’ drive from Virgin Beach and Tenganan Village, Jepun Didulu Cottages provides free Wi-Fi access throughout this holiday park and an outdoor pool.

Mangku and his team were just wonderful. They could not have been more helpful, and no issue was too trivial or short-notice for them. The room was lovely - comfortable, clean, and cosy, and the site is perfectly set up for a relax and walkable from Virgin Beach. We felt right at home, and that’s thanks to all of the staff and the extra mile they go for guests. It’s a very special place with special people, and anyone coming to East Bali would have a wonderful stay there.

We choose this place because it is located about half way between Pura Lempuyang (PL) on the east and Pura Besakih (PB) on the west. And we stop over Sibetan Rice terrace with an excellent view of Mount Agung in clear sky after LP. We also visited Rice terrace near Camaya resort along the way to PB. Throughout the journey which past through small settlements and villages, there is an air of relax atmosphere with swaying Penjor lining the road and path. As it falls on Galungan festival day on 25.9.24, we met villagers that smile happily to offer prayers both in front of their house and also in temples. The only downside is the traffic is heavy during such festival when all the people goes back to their villages and home towns.

The sidewalks are hard to walk on and not maintained.

The sidewalks are hard to walk on and not maintained. There were a lot of restaurants and businesses. Beach access was almost non-existent where we stayed. I must say the “New Queen” restro had the best nasi goreng we have had to date. Staff there was great as well.

Bayshore Villas is an excellent property.... There is little to inspire you within walking distance of the property other than the Bintang Restaurant and Loaf Candidasa Cafe both of which are excellent. If it's a quiet relaxing time just doing very little then this is the place. Other than that Candidasa is uninspiring.

Its a must to check out the whole area before you go.

Its a must to check out the whole area before you go. Use aerial maps. Most of CD is a very narrow strip along the coast with the main road very close - 150m, along half of it. Makes chaos out of what would be a low key destination. There are choices east and west which could suit some people better.

Candidasa doesn’t have the hustle and bustle of towns in the south, which we loved. It’s more laid back and still has an authentic Bali vibe. The locals are brilliant, so friendly and helpful. There’s enough shops and restaurants, bars and warungs to cater to our needs. We love Candidasa and will return.

Candidasa is quiet, away from the madness of places like Legian, Kuta and Semin yak, It takes about 2 hours to get there if traffic is light. Locals are very friendly, trustworthy and honest. Some more upmarket places but mostly mid range. I prefer to eat at local "Warrunggs": better and cheaper and you get to know the locals. You can watch AFL at "Crazy Kangaroo"

Great location, cool sea breeze, very large rooms, excellent aircon, comfortable bed and excellent pillows! Individual bungalows in the Balinese style with high timber ceilings. Staff very attentive and friendly as were the other guests. Good security overnight. Excellent Le Zat restaurant next door offers a discount for Geringsing guests. Very good value for money.

Was a great stopping point to east Bali. The staff were welcoming and pleasent. Even took me to the local medical centre for my chest cold. Villa is right on a small black sand beach. Breakfast was great cooked by staff.
