Skala, and Agistri as a whole, is a lovely place to visit.
Skala, and Agistri as a whole, is a lovely place to visit. The views with mountains in the distance in almost every direction you look is amazing. There are plenty of restaurants with good food and shops to buy what you need. There's also a place called Agistri Go Rentals in Skala where you can rents bikes, ebikes, scooters, and most importantly three-wheeled electric scooters that you can rent even without a license with which you can easily go to the end of the island at Aponisos and back. Every beach has its own charm. And the view of Methana in the south is just amazing.

Beautiful, clean, fragrant hotel. Excellent restaurant, nice service, excellent food. Beautiful, clean sea in front of the hotel. A short walk to the center. A short walk from the port of Skala to the hotel. I fell in love with this hotel and the island. Our family will be coming back to this place.

Had visited the island several times previously, though only as a day-trip from Aegina and not for 6 years.
We found the whole island, especially Skala, greatly improved. It was spotlessly clean, with excellent road surface and good pavements, several new or improved hotels, good restaurants and cafeterias (though, as in most places these days, many of them think loud music enhances the customers' enjoyment). Nice beaches close by and a pleasant evening walk to Megalohori and back. Our 3 days on the island also gave us plenty of time to swim at the island's best beach (Dragonera) and have a fantastic lunch at the one and only great taverna of Limenaria.

Agistri is the best Greek island I've been to.
Agistri is the best Greek island I've been to.
It is less crowded than other islands and it is so small, you can walk between the 2 main towns, Skala and Megalachori by foot or ride bicycles or motorcycle.
Skala is the more touristic town, with many restaurants, beaches, bars and hotels.
you can eat in more fancy restaurants at Rosy's Little Village hotel, or at Kekrifalia Hotel, or on the beach at Sunrise Beach House or morning pancakes at Copa Cabana, or maybe choose to eat street food next door to toxotis studios or grill at Pine Grill & Steakhouse or at Alterego.
Renting a bike would be much cheaper at Megalachori, this way you can get to the most amazing beaches on the island, especially dragonera, where you can enjoy sunset party.

Agkistri is for the adventurous alternative travelers who value nature, tranquility and not the crowds of tourists. Here the opening times of the places keep a different pace from back when people respected themselves and their rest time.
In Skala you will find basic services and a beautiful landscape in a small size just as the island is tiny and walkable.
All the places worth a visit and it is hard to find a place with no standards.

Skala is a beautiful place and it has everything you'll ever need. Lots of restaurants, ice cream, waffle, cocktail bars, sand beaches with sun beds and umbrellas but if you don't want very crowded places you can take an umbrella on your own and enjoy the sea.
Our recent stay at the Saronis Hotel in Agistri was excellent in every regard. The rooms are
tastefully decorated, very comfortable and cleaned on a daily basis. The owner, Kalliopi,
clearly values her team resulting in a very high standard of service by all her staff without
exception. The garden is beautiful and a lovely place to relax, enjoy a drink, read or paint a
pebble! Breakfast, consisting of an array of different homemade delicacies each morning, is
an added extra and a wonderful way to start the day.
We had such a lovely stay at Hotel Alexandra, the room was bright and clean with a relaxing ocean view, Tasula, our host is the nicest, warmest person, she was there when we needed her and also gave us lots of space. The hotel is right in the center of Skala near lots of restaurants and a few small shops, but still very quiet and relaxing, and literally two steps from the beach. We loved our stay and were happy to explore the charming small island of Agistri.
Very nice hotel near the sea, one of the rooms has a view to the sea (we booked very close to arrival so that's that's left). The rooms are comfortable , the air-condition very strong. The breakfast was very delicious and diverse. The service was perfect and the staff helped us with everything. The hotel has a transfer to places at the island with additional cost (we're is only 3 taxis at the island). Hope to come back next vacation.
This hotel was really close to Skala port, but tucked up a hill, so was so peaceful and quiet. The woman who managed the hotel (whoes name I regretfully didn't get) was just so lovely. We really enjoyed our stay here.
We booked a superior room with sea view, and it was just incredible. The best view from a hotel I've ever had. It was comfy and clean. Everything hoped for. Would definitely stay here again.
