The room was updated, but still had a Cretan feel with a wood ceiling, and a lot of local stone around the pool and cafe area. Very tasteful. The hosts are pleasant and the breakfast was tasty.
Conveniently located on the edge of the historical seaside village of Maleme, this attractive, family-run holiday lodge is a fine example of traditional Greek architecture.

Summer Lodge is really nice hotel with traditional Greek ornaments. Very clean, very tidy. They have really comfortable beds. Mr Vasilios, Mrs Rebeka and Mrs Athena, our hosts, helped us to find rent a car and with the instructions what to visit on the Crete.
Just 220 yards from Maleme Beach, Alexandros M features an outdoor pool and a separate one for children. Sports facilities include courts for tennis, volleyball and soccer.
Built right next to a sandy beach with crystal clear water, Elia Agia Marina Hotel offers accommodations in Agia Marina Nea Kydonias. The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant.

Location în front of the sea. Rooms are big but the hotel has a crowded layout so if you stay near thee sea like we did, facing the bar, you ll hear all the noise until 1pm.
Beds are amazing, the most comfortable I ever slept în.
Located on the beach of Agia Marina, 5.6 mi from Chania, adults-only Thalassa Beach Resort offers a spa and a sea-facing pool.

Thalassa is a pretty hotel on the beach, with spacious rooms and several amenities. There's the pool (and a pool bar with good hours), beach area, a spa (which I didn't try out), and more. My room rate included breakfast and dinner, which I only partially took advantage of. It's located in the town so you can also easily walk to other restaurants, bars, coffee shops, walk the beach, etc. I was on the second floor in 604, and y room had a tiny day bed downstairs (along with a loveseat, a small drink station, and desk), and then up a flight of stairs was the main bed. Overall this was fine, though going to the bathroom in the middle of the night becomes a bit of an adventure. Everything was very clean and the staff were very welcoming and helpful!

Small and quiet resort with mainly big all inclusive resorts. Some very nice restaurants (Waves - particularly their burgers; Mythos; Black Lantern - homemade mousaka and Sunday roasts). Lifeguarded beach which was nice but often windy with waves which made it dangerous to swim in.

Excelent location, near a promenade with several tavernas and Shops, supermarket nearby within walking distance. The Villa has all amenities one can wish for, fluffy towels, great linen, even bathrobes and slippers. Towels for the sunloungers onsite and for the beach. Design and layout very spacious and everything is just perfect. The best surprise was a great host in Chara. She awaited uș with cold drinks and a great wine in the fridge, fruits and fresh cheese and bread. Chara made is feel as if we were friends visiting from day one. She gave great tips for dining and tours….overall the best villa and experience in 20 years with this type of vacation. Allowed for quiet relaxation or perfect start off point for nearby exploration. Loved the possibility for swims in the sea and walking back to the cosyness of the sun-loungers in the villa. One always has the possibility to spend the days at seaside on one of the free spots (free sun-loungers) on the beach bars/tavernas along the promenade/beach. Great host and great villa. In short: FABULOUS.

A few good little restaurants by the beach.
A few good little restaurants by the beach. Maleme Taverna / beach bar has great food and the sun loungers are free if you eat there. Same with Mythos bar, also good food at the Wave. Friendly helpful staff in all restaurants. I would stay away from the bigger hotels for food if you want good local quality food.

Maleme is a lovely village on the coast.
Maleme is a lovely village on the coast. It has plenty of hotels, bars and restaurants. The food was excellent. It was just a bus ride to Chania, the nearest big place. It is easy to book visits to other places. It is not too commercialised.

Maleme is small town, but there is everything you might need. I cant rate night life because of small children, but for family vacation is great. In town are many restaurants, car rentals, pharmacy, medical center...You can make a lot of trips from there by car or bus or by little fun train. It is good point for trips to Chania, Botanical garden, Balos, Falasarna beach etc.

Restaurants on the beach are more expensive, on the main street is a Gyros Taverna, food is great, we ate there every 2nd day. Also on the main street you will find another great Taverna next to the Synka supermarket, along the road is the jewel of Malame, The Black Lantern Restaurant absolutely the best eatery in the area with a bar that would not be out of place in the UK. Run by a former Royal Navy Stoker who is a mine of information on the area.
Just want a coffee, look for the green sign, it's a locals place, overlooked by tourists, mores the pity, started evey day off there with 2 or 3 cappuccino,s.

Lovely warm welcome from owners Maria and Costas. They were always around if you had questions or just to say hello.
Room and pool area cleaned daily, nice quirt pool area some days it felt like we had our own private pool
Location great, just a short walk to the beach local supermarkets and restaurants.
Only a quick bus trip away from the larger towns and into Chania as well.
I travelled alone with my teenage daughter for the first time abroad, and we felt very safe at all times
The host Andreas was really friendly and helpful and answered all our questions in great detail. The apartment was right next to the beach and was in a calm surrounding. The location is accessible via public transport from Chania and everything you need (supermarket, restaurants, pharmacy) are nearby.
When we encountered the cockroach, Andreas apologized profusely and offered to give us another apartment. We really liked interacting with him.
I stayed at the Ledra for some weeks back in 2016, they had just started a refurbishment of the rooms..
So impressed with the standard of the rooms…5 stars total, such comfortable rooms and lovely shower…Costas is still in the house and always goes the extra mile to make your stay perfect… I have recommended the Ledra to friends who are visiting Crete mid July..
Aegean breeze is interesting and unique. Very clean, spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen. It is in a good location next to Maleme beach and close to very good restaurants.
The staff is very helpful and kind.
Unique experience and would visit again!
Very nice, cosy and peaceful hotel with very friendly staff. Room and bathroom were modern and small nice details made them homey. We could defenatly come again.
