The staff, the location, the food, cleanliness. I have to say that from the two lovely ladies at reception, the bar and restaurant staff to the amazing gentleman that owns Bella Pais, they all are the most friendly and helpful. I could recommend this place , it's not luxurious but it's clean and cousy and you feel like home.

Lovely local hotel but close to other towns and the big city of Chania (all easily accessible by bus). Small and friendly and the staff are lovely. Easy to get a sunbed by the pool and such a relaxing holiday.

Great location. Quiet area close to beach and amenities. Fresh towels and bedding every few days of our stay and a clean of the villa. Very well equipped with everything you needed. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. Our favourite spot was sitting on the roof terrace and looking out over the countryside and sea. If you are staying with young children there was ample toys and games for them. Also even a pram was provided. There were push bikes although we didn’t use them as we had a car. The pool was cleaned every morning of flying insects. The pool was more of a dipping pool as only small but perfect for cooling off at the end of the day. We would definitely stay again.

We have spent two weeks in Traditional Seaside Cottage Chania. The house is big enough for two families (4 adults and 4 kids). The cottage is fully equipped for living, very comfortable and clean. A
big terrace with a large table to spend evenings and rest after exploring Crete is brilliant. Large dining table inside, perfect for family breakfast. Balcony on the second floor (sea view), air conditioners in each room, absolutely all kitchen equipment, two TV sets with plenty of programs, washing machine and much more. Even a Moka pot and filtered coffee machine are there. We have found sugar, coffee, tea, fresh water, juice, a huge plate of fruits... No need to go shopping at once after arriving. The house is prepared for trouble-free holidays. All equipment is in mint condition. The interior is bright and very cozy.
Area around: Quite good local Rapaniana beach 400m away. Mini market (snacks, drinks, water stuff) 300m away. Small but really good, for kids, Selini Aquapark: 700m. The bakery, food shop, and family restaurant "Kriti" are also about 700m away from Seaside Cottage. Supermarkets (Lidl and one other), leisure areas with pubs, family restaurants, street food, and gift shops are about 15 minutes away by car. Generally speaking, locations are really good for exploring the island. Chania and Kisamos are about 30min by car. Rethymno - 1h. No worries about car parking, there is plenty of free space near the house to drop your car. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet.
Owners: George and his mum met us at the Traditional Seaside Cottage and were surprised with hot home-cooked food (Moussaka). Trust me, after a long flight and driving, tasty homemade food is the best that can happen. We are very grateful for this. It's the best welcome we have ever experienced. George helped us a lot during the trip with advice, a must-visit list, and so on.

Small and quiet resort with mainly big all inclusive resorts. Some very nice restaurants (Waves - particularly their burgers; Mythos; Black Lantern - homemade mousaka and Sunday roasts). Lifeguarded beach which was nice but often windy with waves which made it dangerous to swim in.

Excelent location, near a promenade with several tavernas and Shops, supermarket nearby within walking distance. The Villa has all amenities one can wish for, fluffy towels, great linen, even bathrobes and slippers. Towels for the sunloungers onsite and for the beach. Design and layout very spacious and everything is just perfect. The best surprise was a great host in Chara. She awaited uș with cold drinks and a great wine in the fridge, fruits and fresh cheese and bread. Chara made is feel as if we were friends visiting from day one. She gave great tips for dining and tours….overall the best villa and experience in 20 years with this type of vacation. Allowed for quiet relaxation or perfect start off point for nearby exploration. Loved the possibility for swims in the sea and walking back to the cosyness of the sun-loungers in the villa. One always has the possibility to spend the days at seaside on one of the free spots (free sun-loungers) on the beach bars/tavernas along the promenade/beach. Great host and great villa. In short: FABULOUS.

A few good little restaurants by the beach.
A few good little restaurants by the beach. Maleme Taverna / beach bar has great food and the sun loungers are free if you eat there. Same with Mythos bar, also good food at the Wave. Friendly helpful staff in all restaurants. I would stay away from the bigger hotels for food if you want good local quality food.

Maleme is a lovely village on the coast.
Maleme is a lovely village on the coast. It has plenty of hotels, bars and restaurants. The food was excellent. It was just a bus ride to Chania, the nearest big place. It is easy to book visits to other places. It is not too commercialised.

Maleme is small town, but there is everything you might need...
Maleme is small town, but there is everything you might need. I cant rate night life because of small children, but for family vacation is great. In town are many restaurants, car rentals, pharmacy, medical center...You can make a lot of trips from there by car or bus or by little fun train. It is good point for trips to Chania, Botanical garden, Balos, Falasarna beach etc.

Restaurants on the beach are more expensive, on the main street is a Gyros Taverna, food is great, we ate there every 2nd day. Also on the main street you will find another great Taverna next to the Synka supermarket, along the road is the jewel of Malame, The Black Lantern Restaurant absolutely the best eatery in the area with a bar that would not be out of place in the UK. Run by a former Royal Navy Stoker who is a mine of information on the area.
Just want a coffee, look for the green sign, it's a locals place, overlooked by tourists, mores the pity, started evey day off there with 2 or 3 cappuccino,s.
The location of the hotel is perfect. The beach, is just two steps away.
The staff is doing great job. Food is great. Very good breakfast, lunch and dinner with a variaty of greek food and much more. Fresh salads, sea food.
2 Swimming pools, very fancy, Moderną and brand new furniture.
The garde is very well kept. Beautiful flowers.

The music i the evening very good. If you book All Inclusive you can enjoy very good coctails, local spirits

Very nice place, very good local food and drinks at the open bar, two pools where You can swim or just chill :) Close to the shore, very nice spot to see the sunrise near the hotel. Really nice people, they treat You like a friend or family and help if You need anything. Good spot to travel further west or south on Crete, close enough to airport and Chania city. Definitely going there again! :D
It's amazing location next to a supermarket and bus station and beach front. You can see the sea and amazing sunset and you have everything for yoga class there. Only 20 minutes to Chania, and 30 minutes to Kissamos. The area is local and quiet, and yet al you need is there. The staff is amazingly friendly. The Wi-Fi was great!
Great place, comfortable apartament with all appliances needed. Close to the Maleme beach. Beautiful small jacuzzis available, flexible check in and check out. In the vicinity there are very good tavernas, so dining is also easy.
