Pyrgos Adrachti, hotel in Kalabaka

Set in one of the highest points of Kastraki village with fantastic views of the Pindos Mountains, Pyrgos Adrachti offers spacious rooms with large windows at the base of the Meteora.

Location right up there with Meteora as your backdrop. Very friendly and kind owners. It was a bit difficult to find the property especially in the dark even with the GPS as you need to watch out for a sign and turn at the right place and drive uphill.

We stayed for 3 nights and rented a car.

We stayed for 3 nights and rented a car. It's a little difficult to get from Kalbaka to Kastriki and back again on foot--particularly if you're carrying luggage. There is a route, but I wouldn't want to walk it in the dark if I had an early or late bus into or out of town. Both Kalabaka and Kastraki are really neat, unique places and we truly enjoyed our visit to both. We stayed in Kastraki and would do so again (it's closer to the monasteries). Definitely stay at least two nights if you can, as different monasteries are open on different days. If you plan to hike, get a good map of the trails and read the reviews ahead of time.

We drove to the great monastery.

We drove to the great monastery. We enjoyed all the great artifacts and we sat in the great hall. The town is so beautiful with great restaurants and bakeries. The town was all lit up for Christmas and children were singing. We hiked to the Holy Trinity Monastery from the Old Town Kalabaka. We also stayed in the central Kalabaka Hostel. It was very comfortable

Amazing views, amazing nature. Meteora region is a must see and Kalabaka is a nice sweet town to stay. It was a surprise for us to see there was the mushroom festival the night we arrived there. We tasted local food and fruit served free, enjoyed the concert...

Meteora is nothing short of remarkable, and Kalabaka is a great place to base out of to see it. All of the monasteries are within a 15 minute drive. The town overlooks several of the big rock monoliths and has a cute town square with several tavernas.

What a gorgeous, quaint little village, looks like it was lost in time. Beautifully decorated little restaurants & Cafe’s serving delicious home cooked food. The feel of this village can only be experienced not described. I want very much to go back again one day. It has everything one could desire. For those who want to hike and adventure and those who want to sit enjoy the beauty in little sidewalk cafe’s or search through brick a crack stores. Magnificent

Stayed in the quieter village of Kastraki but drove the short distance to adjoining larger town of Kalabaka to see the 11c Byzantine church. The busier streets of Kalabaka are not overwhelming and offer a contrast to the gentler vibe of Kastraki. Kalabaka is a commercial centre with busy streets and cafes, some of which continue the improper practice of caging songbirds for the ‘interest’ of customers! We were pleased we stayed in Kastraki at the Doupiani House Hotel and appreciated the evening strolls through quiet jasmine-scented streets, where we were occasionally accompanied by wandering tortoises or inquisitive local cats.

I loved the family atmosphere at the hotel, the husband and wife in charge are so lovely and will help you out with any request as best they can. It’s one of the furthest stays from the train station BUT one of the closest to the Monasteries. I did a couple of the guided tours and thoroughly enjoyed the fact that I could sleep that extra 30-40mins more as I was the last to be picked up on the way Meteora.

Our group of 14 girlfriends hailing back to college days had a most comfortable and enjoyable stay at Dellas Boutique Hotel. It is in a beautiful location with amazing views of Meteora. The staff, besides being helpful and accommodating to our requests, turned many a blind eye (and deaf ear!) to this boisterous bunch of buddies ! Would definitely recommend this Hotel, you will not regret it.

We stayed in this hotel 9 years ago, when we have visited Meteora for the first time and this year we came back. We found the same good hotel with quiet location and good restaurants next to it. Fantastic view from the room balcony. Large parking area. Good breakfast available. We highly recommend this quiet little hotel for the perfect stay without unneeded noises!

The hotel is beautifully designed and comfortable, with a fantastic view of the Meteora rocks from the balcony. The main street outside is filled with restaurants and bakeries, making it convenient for meals. The private parking space was a plus, and I enjoyed having breakfast in my room. The warm hospitality of the staff made for a wonderful stay overall.
