A great place for calm holidays! We had a great time as a family with 2 children. Both the outside and the house are very specious with a lot of space to play or to relax on different tarraces. In the house there is everything one might need. It is 20 minute ride to Heraklion and many surrounding beaches. The host is great! Always available and with great tips on what to do around. Highly recommended!!!

The host was just amazing, keeping in contact with us on our day of arrival, and waiting for us when we got there with a great welcome.
The location is also fantastic, over a well stocked supermarket, and just a 5 minute walk from the main square with a great selection of bars and restaurants. The view from the balcony of the mountain was beautiful, and all facilities in the apartment were great.
Our host even left some essentials for us which we weren't expecting at all, such as bread, snacks, even some ouzo!

Archanes is located right in the middle of nowhere.
Archanes is located right in the middle of nowhere. Okay, it's quite close to Heraklion and the Palace of Knossos. But if you want to go to the beaches, you have a choice between terribly crowded beaches around Heraklion, and God forbid, Malia... probably the most disgustingly overcrowded beach we've ever seen, or the beaches on the south of the island, which are accessible through winding mountain roads that can be quite challenging to navigate with a weak engine, like the Peugeot 108 we rented.
The best option is the beaches to the west of Matala, which are a bit over an hour away via Road 97 through Heraklion, leading to Kommos Beach just west of Matala. Matala, although charming, is terribly crowded, while Kommos offers a wide expanse of pebbles with an incredible stereo effect: the sound of waves and the "singing" of cicadas. So you can spend a day at Kommos Beach, having quite a spacious area around you and only the sounds of nature, and in the evening, you can go to Matala for dinner, enjoying a charming but not as spectacular as the Polish Baltic Sea sunsets.

Archanes is a beautiful village not far from Iraklion.
Archanes is a beautiful village not far from Iraklion. It has great restaurants, beautiful scenery a well curated archaeological museum and many nearby attractions including Knossos.
We stay here each time we come to Crete as it is a really relaxed Cretan village. It is accessible by car and bus from Iraklion. Narrow laneways and hilly terrain make it a walker’s dream location.

Such a lovely property - characterful, clean and comfortable. Wished we had been there in the summer so we could have enjoyed the pool. Staff very helpful. Excellent breakfast. Great restaurants in the village. We ate i Agora, which we loved. Fantastic food, excellent wine (made by the owners) and extremely good value for money. Can't recommend highly enough.

My wife and I Really liked the house we stayed in the service we got and the people we interacted were just fantastic we had absolute good memory for life by staying in Archanes and I would definitely recommend it to friends and I hope to be back.,
The location was great. Really close to the restaurants and cafes. It was also very quiet despite being very central.
The room was lovely. Very uniquely decorated and furnished and very cosy. It was spotlessly clean. We received a very warm welcome from the owner who also bought us grapes and home made biscuits which were delicious.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it as ideal accommodation for central Archanes.
Beautiful and comfortable property in the heart of Archanes, the location is exceptional. Michael the host were very attentive with us, waited for us on check in with Fresh fruits and a nice bottle of Raki, he showed us the entire property and how everything worked. A huge + for the terrace they have a place where you can chill and enjoy anytime.
Very stylish and modern room but also very quiet, although the six rooms were in a building in the centre of a small town. We were on the ground floor in Dorippi room. Excellent value. Archanes is a nice town with a lovely main square and some good tavernas.
Hotel had a small parking area but we parked in the street outside.
The property is a beautifully restored compound in a historic town. The town of Archanes has been inhabited since Neolithic times. It is a lively beautiful town. The property has great views of the adjacent mountain and its olive groves.
Eliathos was clean and modern, overlooking all of Archanes. The hosts were so kind and accommodating and the breakfasts were delicious. The pool was beautiful and great for relaxation.
