Staying at the Aurora Hotel was nothing short of a dream for our family. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home, enveloped in a warm, cozy atmosphere that made it clear we were in for a truly special stay. Owners clearly put in the effort to be incredibly family-friendly. From the spacious rooms to the thoughtful amenities, everything was geared towards making our family stay as enjoyable as possible. Our kids loved the activity areas, and we were thrilled with how easy it was to keep them entertained. There’s a genuine warmth to the way the staff interacted with us and our children, making us feel welcomed and valued.
One of the first things we noticed was how clean and well-maintained the entire property is. It’s spotless! You can see that cleanliness is a top priority, which gave us peace of mind, especially with younger children. The hotel also felt extremely safe, with attentive security and a design that made us feel at ease moving around the property.
The rooms at the Aurora are a perfect blend of cozy and stylish, and they truly feel like a home away from home. From soft linens to beautiful decor, every detail contributes to a warm ambiance that lets you unwind completely. Our room even had a lovely view, which made each morning feel magical.

I stayed in Nuuk in my first visit to Greenland. There is a lot of history with every footsteep. I visited these museum; Nuutoqaq or Katersugaasivik Nuutoqaq / Nuuk Lokalmuseum and Nunatta Katersugaasiva Allagaateqarfialu, I also attended mass in these churches Hans Egedes Kirke and Annaassisitta Oqaluffia. Kittat is very interesting shop/workplace with national customes.
Most places in Nuuk are within walking distance.
I only stayed in Nuuk but it would have been top on the ice to fly one day to Ilulissat where hotel stay is not in too much demand over Christmas.

The staff here goes above and beyond and the hostel feels like home. I would happily stay there again and recommend it to anyone travelling through Nuuk. They were renovating the second bathroom while I was there which meant there was only one available for all guests. We managed just fine even with 6 people in the house. The terrace/ balcony is fantastic for coffee breaks/ sunsets and the kitchen is beautiful. You'll find everything you need there.
Amazing. If you are staying in Nuuk and are looking for a room, I would definitely recommend you to stay in Nuuk City Hostel. The room was good, also the community area nice and clean. It's easy to check in yourself. My flight from Reykjavik to Nuuk got cancelled and I arrived there one day later, lost 1 night. They refunded me the lost night without complications. Will definitely stay there again, if I come back to Nuuk one time.
We liked being close to where our friend lived, and to a supermarket (which was no more than 5 minutes walk away). Also it was an easy 20 minutes walk to the Nuuk Centre and the interesting attractions in the old part of Nuuk.

The apartment is very clean and is well equipped. It was very handy to have our own washing machine and drier in our apartment.
Lovely hotel in a good location near to the harbour in Nuuk. We booked at short notice after a change in our travel plans and we weren't disappointed. Room was comfortable and spacious, check-in was easy and the breakfast was good. The hotel were very kind and let us leave our suitcases at reception on the day of departure.
