It's a beautiful British seaside town with lots of independent shops, bars and restaurants. We travelled out of season (January) and found it to be busy, but able to get a table easily at a restaurant, get served at the bar and walk around freely without too many people. Just perfect

Whitby was what we did expect, lots to explore, many small lanes and streets packed with independent stores, lack of car parking was frustrating, we walked to Robin Hoods Bay which though challenging we would recommend

Whitby itself is a Real Gem.

Whitby itself is a Real Gem. A really nice fishing village with exceptional restaurants and Bustly & Friendly bars aswell as lots of little walks and good little shops. Down the coast is sandsend which is outstanding and picturesque and great for a good walk with your dog with a few little dog friendly cafes and a nice little pub.

We love Whitby. So much to see and do.

We love Whitby. So much to see and do. Loved all the xmas trees that were in the church at the top of the 199 steps. Can't beat Abbey Wharf for fish and chips. Most pubs and cafes are dog friendly. Best breakfast Lush cafe silver Street. Great meal af Dittos. You do need to book as not many tables. Endeavour you can take your own fish and chips into the pub. Crocodile tapas bar flower gate great too. Kids love crabbing. Boat trip good.

Love Whitby but for the elderley visiting during winter hard to to walk down to the harbour. (no bus) However this time walked down the streets at the back of the hotel passed the Granby pub it was much easier. also came across businesses I hadn't come across before. Planned our walk and then it was easier to take the steps on return to hotel.

Location absolutely fantastic for the centre of Whitby and all its attractions. You cannot park at the hotel (parking is restricted in Whitby), but the hotel gives you a permit to park in local side streets. When we went in January, it was not a problem finding a suitable space, within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. The breakfast was top notch with good quality ingredients and a good choice of options – hot and cold. The staff were fantastic. Super friendly and helpful, especially those working in the breakfast area and bar.

The Dolphin Hotel was very good. It enjoys a great location to all Whitby town so we had no need for a car. Super clean rooms, some with see views (not ours). A good English breakfast wa served in the dining area with a great view of the harbour so made up for the lack of room view. Good hot shower, clean towels with soap / shower gel dispensers. Mini kettle for tea and coffee making.

Right in the heart of Whitby, this was the first time we have stopped at the Angel Hotel. To be honest, the photo's we saw online didn't quite do it justice. The room had a modern feel, was clean and comfortable and we will definitely book again when we next return. We were on the 2nd floor and heard no noise from the bar below. It was nice to have a view of the harbour too.
