We absolutely loved The Merchant's Yard from the moment we arrived!
we had been allocated a parking space and as soon as we walked into the building, the staff were super friendly and professional and the building oozed quality.
we stayed in room 6, a beautiful , spacious and well appointed room , full of quality touches.
we dined in the restaurant and the food didn't disappoint. good variety of choices on the menu, breakfast of equal quality and the gentleman serving breakfast was lovely also.
We like it so much, my partner wanted to book second night but as it was sadly booked up, it's just leaves an excuse to go back!

Very noisy didn't sleep fridge really needs to be thrown threw the window very noisy . Breakfast not included. Prices were very steep in comparison to others in the village I later realized

Hotel is really well placed to explore the Peak District. staff were friendly, room was clean and comfortable. breakfast was decent too. we would stay again.

Where do I begin? The location was perfect and near the Opera House, and we must recommend a Greek restaurant too which was a walkable distance from the hotel. The hotel was gorgeous and we enjoyed the fact that they had white bath robes and slippers. This was a lovely spa like touch. We also enjoyed the grounds which were spacious and parking was easy. We will be coming back but my partner doesn't know yet.

Lovely village in the centre of the Peak District. X3 pubs and all with restaurants plus other eateries such as fish and chips, an Italian and local produce restaurant . Glorious cathedral in the centre of the village too.

Great location to get to some great hiking spots without...
Great location to get to some great hiking spots without spending too much time on the road. We visited the Ladybower Reservoir, Cave Dale, Mam Tor, the Monsal Trail and other places.
Elliots fish and chip shop makes a visit to Tideswell worth it on its own and The Merchants Yard has an excellent restaurant and is a great place to stay.

Tideswell a perfect location for visiting many areas of the Peak District. Perfect for walking a number of very scenic walks from Tideswell no need to use car to get to start of walk. Other very scenic walks between 10 - 15 mins drive away.

Tideswell is in a great location within the Peak District.
Tideswell is in a great location within the Peak District. The village seems to be a thriving community and there are plenty of walks from it without needing to jump in the car. It's a 20 minute drive to Chatsworth and same or less to Castleton.

Litton had a great pub and a useful post office.
Litton had a great pub and a useful post office. Tideswell had 3 pubs, 2 restaurants, a cafe, a butchers, a Coop, 2 x fish and chip shops and a bakery, as well as a few other small businesses. The Star was a great place for a meal.

We found it very good location for the area as been that way before.(chatsworth,buxton, Bakewell and other places to visit) The Goerge Inn good place to eat reasonably priced and less than a 5 min walking distance from cottage.

Beautifully decorated, well equipped cottage with amazing views (we stayed in the Hayloft). The Hayloft is reached by stairs then all on one level. Great location for walkers and visiting Buxton, Castleton, Eyam, Monsal Trail . One mile to Tideswell for pubs , fish and chips. Our hosts were so welcoming and helpful and the welcome basket was a very thoughtful touch. Would definitely recommend and would return.
Primrose Cottage is in a beautiful village right next to a post office / general store with a great pub a stones through away. It’s a short walk into Tideswell with some of the best hikes we’ve been on. Primrose Cottage has everything you could need, it is so warm cosy with great attention to detail.
The room was clean and comfortable and staff were friendly and accommodating. Tideswell is a beautiful village and a perfect location for many walks in the Peaks. It was so peaceful. I shall definitely return.
Everything. The staff , the location, the excellent finish of the hotel , the top quality food . Everything was top quality. I could wax lyrical all day about how good it is . We will definitely be back .
We enjoyed our one night at The George Inn. Staff very friendly and the food of high quality. The young waiter was friendly and very helpful. Tideswell is a lovely place to visit.
