Bedroom was ok and the bed was comfortable. I found the price of food and drink to be expensive. Breakfast was ok and although the evening meal was good, it was rather expensive.

The locality was excellent the room was quaint comfortable and everything we needed
Beautiful landscapes, river and lovely walks. A few single track roads though most can be avoided taking a longer route.
The Old Court Hotel food was good, home made and reasonable. Nice staff and cosy. Symonds Yat Rock was amazing, great views.
Recommend Woods of Whitchurch for lovely lunch and amazing cakes.

The weather was heavy rain for some of the time, but driving through the lanes with the trees dripping, the mist rising, and everything so green was magical. The area is loved by walkers, which we don't do so much off now, but the area is so green, peaceful and invigorating! It must be the ozone in the air.
We were only here for a 1 night stay and had visited Ross, Yat Rock and driven through part of the Forest of Dean.
It is an amazingly thickly wooded area, that seems to go on forever.
I've walked through well marked paths in the past with friends who lived at Rock, and my Grandparents who lived at St. Briavels in the forest. Goodrich Castle is a great place to visit as well as little village's and Inns you will come across.
Yat Rock is known for its Peregrine falcons, which if you can catch sight of one they are magnificent.
Nearby, Coleford, Lydney and other towns offer some good shops and pubs.
Enjoy!

the great outdoors was the best place to be.
the great outdoors was the best place to be.
we ate at the Ferrie Inn (dinner on the Sunday night and breakfast on Monday morning)
we would avoid the summer holidays as we think it would be very busy and we wouldn't get the attention and familiarity we got from all the staff in June

Loved it! Such a gorgeous area!
Loved it! Such a gorgeous area! So relaxing, being by the river,
The canoeing was amazing!
We saw Kingfishers, Heron's and Swans, to name just a few.
The walk up to Symonds Yat Rock is a bit of a challenge, but so worth it when you get up there, what a view! You are able to drive to a nearby car park if the climb is not for you.
The walk along the river is beautifully wild too! You could be in another country.
You simply cannot go wrong with a visit here.

Beautiful area with plenty of places to walk and things to see and do.
Ate mostly at the Saracens Head where we were staying; food was excellent.
Did venture over the river to the Old Ferrie Inn, which was also good food.
Cleanest property I have ever seen. John and team provided everything you needed to ensure you could maintain that standard. Lovely bed and bedding, kitchen etc.
Loved the location and the ability to walk to the river in a couple of minutes and the local pub.
The excellent village shop is a slightly longer walk but no issues - suspect no longer than 15 mins via the river etc
Having a car was very useful to visit local attractions which were in easy reach - Symonds Yat Rock / Monmouth etc
Beautiful property, cosy and clean. The bed was comfy and the room quiet with beautiful views. The staff were very welcoming and the hotel is dog friendly. The food was extremely good and the waiting stuff very friendly and attentive.
The location is excellent, the views outstanding. Symonds Yat Rock is 500m above the hotel which is a moderately steep half hour walk to the top and very worthwhile.
