The Pines Hotel, hotel in Swanage

Stunning sea views are offered at this cliff-top hotel overlooking Swanage Bay. With private steps down to the sandy beach below, The Pines provides free parking and full English breakfasts.

We stayed in one of the balcony ocean-facing rooms which was wonderful...the views, over the bay, are incredible. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant in the evening. Service was first class and the food, delicious. After a lovely breakfast, we relaxed in our room, enjoying the view, until it was time to go. We will definitely come again!

Staff were excellent, very helpful and eager to assist with any of our queries. In particular they went out of their way to help me use the EV charging point.

YHA Swanage, hotel in Swanage

Overlooking Swanage Bay and the Jurassic Coast, this YHA hostel is 820 feet from Swanage’s Blue Flag sandy beach. It offers affordable accommodations, free parking, a restaurant and laundry...

Booked a twin room and thought it was a bit pricey but didn't realize it had quite a few beds in it so if you have a people with you actually works out pretty cheap

Swanage is a lovey seaside village.

Swanage is a lovey seaside village. They have quaint restaurants and tea and coffee shops. The people are friendly. It is during winter so not everything is open, but the artists are around for the Christmas fairs and the shops well decorated to welcome in the festive season. We ate at the Corner, a mediterranean restaurant. Our food was delicious and the service outstanding. We had lunch at a little restaurant called Java which served great soup and had a good menu. Definitely worth a visit. Definitely worth a stay. At present the Polar Express train running. Not tried it but sounds wonderful for adults and children.

Swanage is quite possibly the jewel of the Dorset seaside towns. Unspoiled by big franchise business. It was wonderful to reminisce about our visits when our girls where young and many of the small businesses still surviving. The views are magnificent. The town still has a wonderful welcoming charm. A clean sandy beach for those warmer days. An absolute gem of the Jurassic coast.

A compact and lively town, great to walk around, good for eating , great choice of fish and chips, and fine dining at the Salt Pig and McKenzies, fun to explore on foot. And don't miss the Swanage Railway, with its steam engines and comfortable carriages , perfect for a trip to Corfe Castle and back.

Lots of independent shops and cafes.

Lots of independent shops and cafes. Nice walks along the beach front and up over the hill to pevril point. Easy to catch buses to various other locations like Poole or Corfe Castle. Steam train ride to Corfe castle. Only dissapointment for us is that we required Gluten free options when eating and none of the fish and chip shops offered this. The one place that did " The Black Swan Inn", was fully booked so I woud advise anyone needing gluten free options to books early.

Lovely beach and coast line. Nice park near house great for quick dog walk. Coast path great and Swanage has a nice little town centre. Recommend The Pig at Studland for an excellent meal with locally sourced produce.

A traditional seaside holiday resort with no loud modern activities. Independent shops and eating places and a lovely pier to walk on. Quite a small place full of character. Boat trips and fishing trips round the bay and even Punch and Judy on the beach which sums up the feel of the place. Great walks round the cliff top with stunning views. A steam train ride to Corfe Castle is also possible.

Lovely clean, comfortable room with a super view of the hills behind Swanage. Family room, so had a double bedroom and a separate single room, all beautifully decorated. Breakfast and room service was great and staff were very helpful and friendly. View from breakfast room over the sea is amazing. We went down the 114 steps from the garden to the sandy beach - was beautiful.
