The fresh options for breakfast were great (fruit, yogurt, eggs, juice). The towels were extra good, the bed is comfy and the sea view was excellent. We lucked into a sunny morning and enjoyed a walk along the beach path. The whole town is a quick walk, we tried two restaurants. And Dunnottar Castle (excellent!) is only 5 min away.

The rooms were very comfotable. The cake in each was was over and above expectations. The breakfast was delicious. And the people were very very nice. If and when we come back to scotland, I would make this our base.

Every thing was perfect , plenty of room and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook , Paul Hollywood would be impressed , bathroom just needs a shower tidy for bottles , the beds were really comfy , the location is absolutely brilliant right on the harbour , it isn’t noisy it’s a nice sound of people enjoying themselves , you can literally roll to the harbour pub/restaurants which are nice . The town of Stonehaven was pleasant to walk around.
The town of Stonehaven was pleasant to walk around. It was very clean and had some nice bakery shops and an assortment of restaurants. People were helpful in giving suggestions and directions when needed.
The town's beach was clean and they had a lovely boardwalk around the beach and over to the marina, with very interesting metal sculptures, depicting different types of ships and working boats and other objects.
It was a short drive to the awesome Dunnottar Castle which was well worth the visit.

I was there for a literary festival but would go back just for a short break.
Stonehaven is a compact and picturesque town with gorgeous sea views especially if you are able and willing to climb up to the War Memorial which we did. We had lovely weather too which was a bonus.

A beautiful picturesque Scottish seacoast town!
A beautiful picturesque Scottish seacoast town! The walk to the Castle overlooking it is a must, although not for the lazy or elderly. Stonehaven has a shop (Carron's) with the best fish and chips you'll ever eat! The other restaurants are equally unsophisticated and without as good food, but there is one cafe (Neuk at Arduthie House on Ann St) that is absolutely outstanding.........delicious warm fresh pastries, outstanding quality coffee and a choice of wonderful cooked breakfast items -- from locally sourced sausages and eggs to avocado toast with blistered tomatoes. Also some delicious-sounding lunch fare. Highly recommended!
Getting around Stonehaven is pretty easy.......you can easily walk almost everywhere, but if you have luggage and need a ride, just call Dash Cabs and they will come almost immediately. Ask for Mark..... the nicest fellow you can imagine and very helpful!
Property is along the beach. But we booked a room at the back as it was cheaper and only one available.
Given the small size it was beautifully presented with wine and breakfast incl. Plus a fridge! (Not many hotels in Scotland have one!)
Host was friendly and helpful with good tips for restaurants to eat.
Walking distance to some good restaurants nearby along the beach to harbour.
The owner was a really lovely lady who made us feel very welcome the moment we met her. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very spacious, cosy, clean & we had a wonderful view of Stonehaven Harbour
