Hotel is in a quiet village a few miles from Stanley. Very quiet even on Saturday night but an excellent bus service means it is not cut off. All the people we met in the village were very friendly and helpful.

The purpose of our stay was to be close to the Beamish Museum.
Beamish working museum was amazing and would highly recommend; it has lots of interesting areas to visit. The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. There was regular transport to get you around the site. Plenty of food stations and places to rest. Beamish is a must and still adding more interesting historical attractions. The fish and chips are a must, you could buy a smaller portion called a Dab - more than enough; cooked in traditional beef dripping which brought some memories. A fabulous trip down memory lane. Remember to charge your mobile as there are lots of pictures to be taken.
We visited a pub called The Blue Bell, with Turkish cuisine which was very tasty. Nicely decorated, and warm and inviting. Staff very friendly.
The Ball Alley was situated in a great spot to enable to easily access Beamish, it was also situated near a garage & shop.
There is much more to visit if you check out local attractions but we had to be off early to get home.

Beamish Hall is an excellent place to stay.
Beamish Hall is an excellent place to stay. The staff are amazing. They genuinely want to make your stay the best it can be. Beamish museum is also full of interesting history and entertaining for all ages.
The location was stunning, and I would love to return in the summer to see the garden in colour. This would add to the grandness of the setting.
Inside the adaption to a hotel was tasteful and sensitive, the rooms had the height and elegance of a grand hotel. The windows seat in our room added to its charm.
Initially, the access to the restaurant was unusual, crossing the courtyard, but soon realised this was a necessity for the stables and hall to be kept true to their architectural original plan.
Liked everything about the property, set in a lovely open area. Clean, comfortable and also has a lift so you don’t have to break your back taking luggage up the stairs. The staff were superb. Polite, professional and just couldn’t do enough! I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend this lovely hotel and thank the staff for a lovely stay.
We arrived pretty late and asked if it was possible to have a late checkout. They let us checkout late on Sunday. Absolutely lovely human beings.
The staff where really helpful, professional and accommodating. The locals where lovely had a good chum wag with them upon my arrival back at the hotel after a family wedding. Fmi felt very safe and welcomed in.
