Lovely spacious room and large bathroom with a huge round bath. Comfortable large bed. Food in the pub was lovely. Excellent service from all staff. We also had a folding door to separate the bathroom for privacy.

The hotel is in a glorious setting. It had a luxurious feel. Our ground floor room was stunning. Breakfast and dinner were very good though we enjoyed dinner very much it was costly which could put us off staying longer. That said Bed and Breakfast was fairly priced and the staff is a credit to the hotel. The receptionist was warm and welcoming and this was consistent throughout the hotel. We had a special stay.

Hotel is in a quiet village a few miles from Stanley. Very quiet even on Saturday night but an excellent bus service means it is not cut off. All the people we met in the village were very friendly and helpful.

The purpose of our stay was to be close to the Beamish Museum.
Beamish working museum was amazing and would highly recommend; it has lots of interesting areas to visit. The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. There was regular transport to get you around the site. Plenty of food stations and places to rest. Beamish is a must and still adding more interesting historical attractions. The fish and chips are a must, you could buy a smaller portion called a Dab - more than enough; cooked in traditional beef dripping which brought some memories. A fabulous trip down memory lane. Remember to charge your mobile as there are lots of pictures to be taken.
We visited a pub called The Blue Bell, with Turkish cuisine which was very tasty. Nicely decorated, and warm and inviting. Staff very friendly.
The Ball Alley was situated in a great spot to enable to easily access Beamish, it was also situated near a garage & shop.
There is much more to visit if you check out local attractions but we had to be off early to get home.

Felt privileged to stay in a characterful pub B&B where the hosts surely work their socks off. We got there in time for a nice pint in the bar and then retired to a very pleasant room with its own bathroom. Everything had been thought through to make a stay pleasant. Breakfast was excellent. Before we left, we had a look at the pub beer garden, very attractive and very well maintained. Very responsive to texts and calls. Delighted we hadn’t chosen a hotel and that we had found this little gem. Very quiet.
Location was great only a few minutes from the Wedding venue. So nice to have an apartment instead of an hotel room.
Host Andy was especially friendly and helpful in providing us with a travel cot and high chair.
Tbh words can't explain how amazing the hotel and rooms are ,right on the door step to the main street
Ample car parking
Plus the staff would bend over backwards to help you
