I had a close family member admitted to Southport and Formby Hospital and needed a hotel as close as possible and for an indefinite period. Debbie and Ken who run the Talbot could not have been more helpful. I had everything I needed. The hotel was clean, well maintained and very comfortable. I couldn’t have asked for more.

Southport like most places has deteriorated but still has lots to offer at very affordable prices. The sea front, beach and marine lake are good facilities for the appropriate times of the year. All year round Lord St still has character coupled with a reasonable shopping centre for a spend, great for walking and enjoying a brew or food in one of the numerous establishments many of which have evening entertainment
Location is good to visit Liverpool with good transport connections
Plenty of wetlands for accessible birdwatching so all in all a good place to visit

Hotel is obviously in process of being refurbished with scaffolding around and smell of paint but decorators have to work around the hotel guests etc.
Otherwise a business still needs to run although a discount/token of some sort would be appreciated.
Otherwise our two night stay went to plan.
