Hotel is obviously in process of being refurbished with scaffolding around and smell of paint but decorators have to work around the hotel guests etc.
Otherwise a business still needs to run although a discount/token of some sort would be appreciated.
Otherwise our two night stay went to plan.

Pleasureland was fabulous a big variety for all ages our children were 13 and 15. Lots for younger children too. Not overcrowded and no long queues, Clean toilets. Clean eating areas fish and chips good. Nice gift shop. Stayed from 11 till 6. Staff all pleasant. Crazy golf was amazing the children and adults enjoyed. Swimming at the pool following day. Lazy river, Jacuzzi, flumes, tower area for little ones with tipping buckets of water and slide. Thoroughly enjoyed. We went to see the pier and beach but not a sandy beach and sea way way out. Long walks along the prom and the RSPB area near beach we didnt have time to explore. Marina and lake nice area. Park nearby with splash area. Bowling green. It was a relaxing time for us and we will definately go back and stay longer. Only a 2 day visit this time. Plenty of bars and pubs and coffee shops in the town. The roads are wide and easily accessible plenty of parking on main road with pay machines in situ. We ate at Pizza hut and . Next visit we will try the beach further on past Southport .

Southport is an iconic UK town with beautiful architecture.
Southport is an iconic UK town with beautiful architecture. Yes the town (as do all towns) struggles a little with shops being empty due to online sales, but there are still lovely restaurants, pubs and cafes to make the stay relaxing and fun. With a new convention centre coming the future looks good too.

I adore Southport a lovely victorian seaside resort.
I adore Southport a lovely victorian seaside resort. Quiet and clean and a lot nicer than its neighbour Blackpool. The pier is undergoing restoration but when it is open a lovely walk, way out, with old fashioned slots at the end using old pennies. Brilliant views of Blackpool and surrounding countryside. Funland is loved by the kids. Brilliant play area keeps the kids happy for hours. Splashworld in now a fantastic play pool for kids of all ages. Pleasureland rides for all ages. Handy land train and minature railway to take you up and down marine drive if you do not want to walk. Crazy golf adventurous and prices for families. Lots of shopping on Lord Street and shopping area if you like to partake, though like most Hgh Streets lots of empty shops now.

I was very impressed the with my breakfast the bacon was as thick as a pork chop . I will be heading back home tomorrow . I come to Southport to visit a friend who has a few health issues . So coming back to the hotel and relaxing in my room with the radio in the background. Last night I slept 9 hours and ordered a Chinese take away . I would like to give a THUMBS UP.
