Fabulous location and great facilities. Very peaceful and relaxing holiday. Food at the Gamekeeper's Inn was fabulous. The facilities at the site were also excellent - particularly the menu at the cafe.

Good place to go, lots of shops, plenty of eating places. Need a week there at least if you want to see everything. We was only there two days, would have loved to have gone to castle, and we saw there was a small theatre, would have been good to go there, found a social club, had a good night there, that was Saturday, an artist was on, he was very good. Plenty of pubs serving food. Friendly people, we had Sunday tea at the railway pub,had Sunday roast, it's a good place to eat, and not over priced. And there is Dale's cafe, where we had a lovely breakfast Sunday morning, it was lovely.

The church has a great cafe mid-week and the canal basin is a joy to visit. Gargrave is on the Pennine Way so do see it! If you want a restaurant recommendation then try the Bollywood Cottage at Gargrave, near the Old Swan, as it offers good food and a 10% discount for paying cash.

Car parking is relatively easy to find and not expensive for long stay. The castle is one of the best and most intact I've been to. The church too has plenty of history. The canal boat 30 minute trip was pleasant and only £5 but it would have been good to have some basic information as to which canal we were on, and its history. The town has plenty of character, eateries, good market and shops. The surrounding Dales countryside and its villages have plenty to offer in this beautiful part of the world.

We visit the area regular, lovely little town with a nice selection of shops, and lots of nice hiking around the area. The canal is great, we have done various boat trips from Skipton, and also enjoy the walk along the canal which is fully paved, so suitable in all area's. Highly recommend Oakley's restaurant, we always make a point in eating there during our stays, the Castle is definitely worth a visit, and take the walk through the woods after which is a nice walk and takes about an hour to complete.
Excellent room, quiet, clean, with excellent walk in shower/ wet room. TV and wifi very good. Ist & 2nd floor served by an idiosyncratic lift. which was fine for us as my wife is not too good with stairs. Breakfast was excellent, very good choice of cooked or cereals etc. We dined in the hotel one evening, very good meal. Hotel is opposite Skipton station, which is handy for a trip on the Settle - Carlisle Railway
The Unicorn Hotel Skipton
Was in a brilliant location close to the centre of town, it had free parking at a nearby carpark, the bedroom we had was absolutely spotless the breakfast was served in our room which was a added bonus. The host of the Unicorn Hotel was real pleasure to meet nothing was to much trouble we all said that we would definitely be returning soon.
We wished to visit the skipton Village on a leisurely trip.
A mini break to recharge. We went on walks on canal, boat trips , we saw the local market and the Gala.
The location was perfect and we received excellent service from the hotel.
Help with bags ,information on the local attractions.
We will visit again
It was clean and comfortable. Great position just a 30 min walk into Skipton along the tow path
The pool was nice and also clean and not too busy.
Despite the hotel being full and it being a weekend it was not noisy either.
