Love it.
Love it. We always go to The Globe which is fun and the pub at Rye Harbour but unfortunately the kitchen was closed.
We had a car accident on farmland near Appledore and the farmer was so helpful in every way, pulling the vehicle out of the hedge and recommending Skinners local garage to take a look at the car and ensure it was safe to drive home
All their kindness minimised the upset and we are grateful. A trip to remember for sure!

Rye is a beautiful historic village.
Rye is a beautiful historic village. There’s plenty to do and see, from streets full of independent shops, cosy pubs, historical sites, restaurants, antique shops. It’s all cobbled streets and medieval housing. Very photogenic and aesthetically pleasing! 3-4 days is enough.
I’d recommend getting a hearty breakfast at the Whitehouse Hotel & then walking to Rye Nature Reserve (about 3 miles) via the field path that runs parallel to the main road. It’s absolutely beautiful once you get there, there’s a visitor centre with a cafe. You can walk for miles along the coast.
Would also recommend the Rye Emporium for antiques.
There’s also NT Lamb house, an independent cinema, a castle, and of course the iconic Mermaid Street!

There is plenty of nice pubs and restaurants to choose from, nice walks along the beach and through the old town, we stayed for 3 nights and there were still things of interest to view, which we will do on another visit next year.

Turned up early and asked if we could park in car park whilst we spent the day in rye and was offered our room at that point very impressive as it was only 11.30 and dident expect that considering check in wasent untill 3 😁

Sausages and bacon where good quality....mrs knowles
Rye is a nice place to visit and a good getaway. There was some nice places to visit and has that old look about it and what I call untouched. There was some nice pubs to drink or eat in. The hotel we stayed in has a sister hotel down the road where we ate once as ours didnt have a restaurant at night!. Breakfast had a good selection
In a good spot in Rye. Not so easy to access by car, but most of the old town is like that, and after 6pm you can park close to the hotel. Quiet overnight. The room was comfortable if a bit tired. Breakfast was fine - quite small portions but cooked fresh. Pleasant outdoor tables to have a drink in the evening were a plus.
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Rye. If you'd like to stay at a traditional British hotel with classy details this is your place. Very spacious room. Great breakfast with a selection of marmalades, cereals, fruits and different sort of breakfast dishes.
The rooms are really spacious and clean. Position is great if you are with a car as it is really close to Rye, while being in a very quiet area. Spa facilities are good considering the night rate of the hotel.
