Lyons woodlands hotel - what a wonderful beautiful woodland site and fantastic historical hotel building - the woodwork is absolutely amazing inside and the room was pleasant enough - not the panels we were promised on booking but we are staying here again in 10 days so having that room then - we loved the charming door going into the bedroom -Patsy deserves a special mention - what a gorgeous young lady - pleasant friendly and sweet and what a cook!! Fantastic breakfast and quality food especially sausage and bacon - no skimping on quality here.

Lovely vibe, the staff were genuinely very happy to be working there and helping customers any way they could. Lovely simple and modern decor, immaculate throughout, yet retaining a country pub feel. Couldn't wish for a better pub or b&b.
We were two vegetarians, booking late, asking for a table at the last minute and late for breakfast, but none of this was any trouble, and we were made to feel very welcome, had lots of meal choice and had a perfect stay.

We stayed for 3 nights which was a perfect amount of time. The hut had the essentials for our stay. Located in a peaceful location with beautiful animals in the next field. We’d recommend others to stay here.
Loved Ruthin Castle , great if you have a dog .
Tons of character in the building , staff were excellent as was the food .
It’s an old building and could do with updating - but don’t let that put you off as it really is beautiful , yes could do with an update but I really lived it as it was and will definitely be going back .
Grounds were lovely with lots of peacocks roaming .

Ruthin is a very scenic and historic town.
Ruthin is a very scenic and historic town. But despite going there on a Saturday afternoon it was quite quiet and there were only a few stalls at the indoor market. Other shops had closed early. I'd heard that the cafe at the arts centre was an independent one, but when we went it was actually a Costa, which was a little disappointing.
Went to church on Sunday morning at St Peter's and received a very warm welcome from Rev Luke and other congregants.
Had takeaway from the Himalaya Indian (or perhaps Bangladeshi) restaurant, which was the best I'd ever tasted; full of rich complex flavours. I'd read reviews that the restaurant often gave additional dishes for free. This certainly proved to be the case. I was on my own so ordered a main dish (vegetable lemon chilli garlic masala to be precise!) and a rice but also got a lovely fluffy naan, three poppadom with salad and pickles, a dhal and three onion bhaji! All for free!

no lift, so be prepared for lots of steps to bedroom. walk to dining area long. left in the Morning with nobody on reception. seems to be a teenager hangout. menu limited , food ok, but not value for money, service charge added to bill. can't add anything to the room. meal service starts at 6pm unless you appear to be a special guest and can eat earlier. barman great but limited availability of drinks. Lots seems to be an extra cost. Missed booking breakfast, based on evening meal glad didn't pay additional £18 each for tea and toast.
looked forward to this birthday treat, but didn't for the price achieve expectations

Reception staff were lovely we were supposed to have breakfast on both of the days we stayed but did not enjoy it on the first day so cancelled it for the second day of our stay.
Love Ruthin, and staying in this stunning building, just added to our stay, first time staying at a Wetherspoon’s Hotel, very impressed with value for money, and food great here, as eaten here several times before, thank you to the chef, and helpful staff. Will definitely stay again.
Was a lovely castle and was a pleasure to stay somewhere other than a normal hotel.
Will definitely be booking next time I'm in North Wales.
Food was nice.
Absolutely beautiful place and right in the centre of ruthin but also on a nice quiet rd so very peaceful with everything within short walking distance
