The Jewel in the Crown, countryside escape, hotel in Rudyard

The Jewel in the Crown, countryside escape offers accommodations in Rushton Spencer, 13 miles from Capesthorne Hall and 15 miles from Trentham Gardens.

This was a great place to stay. The house was full of quirky, interesting items and paintings. The breakfast of bacon, free range eggs, bread, butter - as well as two types of cereals and milk was a first class. Barbara was fascinating to talk too, lots of anecdotes and amazingly fit. There is a large garden. We went in September but would have loved to see the garden in full summer bloom. Barbara recommended The Knot Inn, a gastropub, which is about a mile away where we had a very enjoyable meal.
