A lovely looking hotel in one of the best locations.
A lovely looking hotel in one of the best locations. Parking difficult to find and over the road with gravel in the car park. Not great for walking with a suitcase. No lift, lots of stairs to climb in a narrow staircase and help needed to carry a suitcase. Kitchen closed on a Sunday- i asked around 4.30 pm. Staff who dealt with me were not particularly interested in advising on availability of food elsewhere and not particularly knowledgeable. I personally found this unwelcoming and irritating. Especially after a long journey. The room was nice and clean with tea, coffee pods and a nice large bath with adequate toiletries. A bit on the small side though.

Tunbridge Wells is a mix of old and new.
Tunbridge Wells is a mix of old and new. The top part of town has the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre with everything you need and then at the other end of town you have The Pantiles which is where the royals used to visit to drink the spring water.
Great public transport with buses readily available & the train station in the middle of town.
The High Street has some nice shops & cafes
Tunbridge Wells is a great place to base yourself to see the Kent countryside with places like Bodiam Castle & Penshurst Place a short drive away.

The historic area of town is pretty and well served with outdoor and indoor eating areas. There no loud night time music at Bank Holiday weekend.
The are some modern shopping centres. There are plenty of well maintained green areas. There doesn't appear to be any local buses around the town. There is a train station. I walked 4 Km on Saturday morning doing some emergency shopping after Ryanair lost my luggage. I would have gladly taken a local bus if there had been any. It could be a nice base to explore the area if you are driving.

Great experience, went to see grandson in show, but decided to stay overnight. Great place to walk round, nice architecture and variety of shops - scotney castle 10 minutes away
One on the best places to eat from all places I’ve visited - the grill restaurant at the barn. Excellent food and great value, if I lived locally it would be weekly visit without a doubt.

Room was comfortable and clean, we were pleased to get a studio, but don't know the difference between this and a room. Meals were good value for money and good quality, the 2 free drinks were a very nice surprise. What made the visit so good was undoubtedly the staff, the best we've come across after visiting many hotels.
All staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. William assisted carrying suitcases to our room as there are many stairs and no lift. Location is excellent, close to many options to eat out. Hotel dinner for the Pantiles Jazz night was delicious. Paid parking was easy and close by.
everything! I booked a last minute stay due to staying over for work, what a lovely surprise!
the staff were so helpful, the hotel was gorgeous, the room was so considered, I had a balcony for my morning coffee. The entire experience from start to finish was amazing. thank you!
All staff very helpful and friendly particularly the manager. Food excellent. Bedroom quirky design. Very comfortable. Hotel convenient for accessing town centre. Quiet. Excellent walk-in shower.
Staff very helpful. Breakfast was fantastic, one of the best we've eaten at a hotel for a long time. Our evening meal was excellent as well. If we were in the area again would definitely stay.
