Stephano, the owner, helped us get a much better room on the first floor since the original room was on upper floors. I can't go up steep stairs without huffing puffing due to heart condition and asthma. He let us check in early at 1pm, as well. The new owner redecorated the rooms and the king bed was amazingly comfortable. We had a sea marina view from our room. The shower was great ,too.
Consisted of of three Georgian town houses dating back to 1799, this charming, individual hotel in Ramsgate's historic garden crescent has amazing harbor and sea views. Two of the houses are...

We've been visiting Ramsgate regularly for some years and love it. The people are so friendly & welcoming. There's art, culture, a good music scene & great pubs. Plus it is an ideal base for visiting surrounding areas. great walks too. We had a delicious meal at Porto Reale on Harbour Parade. Highly recommend it.

Sea front and harbour are are fantastic.
Sea front and harbour are are fantastic. A visit to the war time tunnels is a must. Away from harbour the town is a little rundown and needs an injection of cash to tidy it up. Pub and restaurants good value for money.

Looking over the Marina from our accommodation was great, fishing boats going in and out, sailing boats making sail, then the walk around the Marina itself is relaxing. Arches, near by, has curios shops, coffee bars and restaurants to muse round and watch the world go by.
The town has a mixture of shops, some nice little independents, which is always good to see, restaurants for every taste and of course great Fish and Chips. A visit to the biggest Wetherspoons is a must, if nothing else, to see how they have preserved the Pavillion, an iconic land mark. Ramsgate gate Tunnels, that protected the residents in WW2 is worth a visit, we never knew they existed. There is a great 1940s cafe in town, that is done up of that era and staff dressed accordingly, we had Tea and cake there, another little gem.
Glad we stayed here, rather than other places around the coast, for us it was just right.

We hadn't even heard of Ramsgate before I booked but it is an absolute delight. Fantastic views; lovely walks; mostly very friendly people and lots of places to eat, many with terrific views. Although I have said the length of trip was just right, in some ways it was also too short because it really is one of the nicest places we have ever been on holiday.
It's NOT a great place if steepish inclines are an issue (e.g. if you have arthritic knees) as pretty much everywhere requires going up a hill or down one - having said this, we walked everywhere so it's not impossible...
We didn't use the car once, which was great, but I think there probably are lots of places to go nearby if you do want to use Ramsgate as a base - you definitely don't need to go anywhere, though, Ramsgate is a really interesting, attractive little town if you just want to look at lovely views and enjoy meals at a range of different cafes.

Historic town with interesting architecture.
Historic town with interesting architecture. We visited the Ramsgate Tunnels which were very interesting. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and a huge Sandy beach together with a very popular harbour. The whole of that corner of Kent has a lot to offer visitors looking for a relaxing few days.

Check-in guy not v.helpful; didn't help with case upto 3rd floor or show me room. Or explain that the key card also opened the hotel entrance after hours. Although when checking out another guy helped with case & was very nice.
Small room but spotless, tea/coffee/biscuits welcome. Decent t.v. Bed & linen comfy. Good shower pressure & toiletries supplied, plenty of towels.
Being disabled the stairs where a problem not only in the hotel which we where told about by Susie so it was not such a shock but all the steps you had to confront just getting to the hotel I found hard but the staff were very helpful room was very clean and warm a view across the marina would have been nice but it was a lovely Gem in Ramsgate with wonderful staff
A lovely lounge & bedroom combination on the ground floor overlooking the sea.
So well decorated and the light coming through the window was amazing.
Nice comfortable bed too and a nice part of Ramsgate with quickly shops and nice pubs .
Such a great chat with the housekeeper, so friendly.
Nice room. Staff super friendly. Nice location to explore the whole East Coast of Kent.
There is a nice walk by the cliff and down to the beach if you find the subway at the park.
