Looking over the Marina from our accommodation was great, fishing boats going in and out, sailing boats making sail, then the walk around the Marina itself is relaxing. Arches, near by, has curios shops, coffee bars and restaurants to muse round and watch the world go by. The town has a mixture of shops, some nice little independents, which is always good to see, restaurants for every taste and of course great Fish and Chips. A visit to the biggest Wetherspoons is a must, if nothing else, to see how they have preserved the Pavillion, an iconic land mark. Ramsgate gate Tunnels, that protected the residents in WW2 is worth a visit, we never knew they existed. There is a great 1940s cafe in town, that is done up of that era and staff dressed accordingly, we had Tea and cake there, another little gem. Glad we stayed here, rather than other places around the coast, for us it was just right.

We hadn't even heard of Ramsgate before I booked but it is an absolute delight. Fantastic views; lovely walks; mostly very friendly people and lots of places to eat, many with terrific views. Although I have said the length of trip was just right, in some ways it was also too short because it really is one of the nicest places we have ever been on holiday. It's NOT a great place if steepish inclines are an issue (e.g. if you have arthritic knees) as pretty much everywhere requires going up a hill or down one - having said this, we walked everywhere so it's not impossible... We didn't use the car once, which was great, but I think there probably are lots of places to go nearby if you do want to use Ramsgate as a base - you definitely don't need to go anywhere, though, Ramsgate is a really interesting, attractive little town if you just want to look at lovely views and enjoy meals at a range of different cafes.

    Historic town with interesting architecture.

Historic town with interesting architecture. We visited the Ramsgate Tunnels which were very interesting. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and a huge Sandy beach together with a very popular harbour. The whole of that corner of Kent has a lot to offer visitors looking for a relaxing few days.

There are some great places to eat, but also some very run down areas ,so check it out well. Broadstairs nice walk and well worth a visit. Brasserie restaurant and Turkish one on the front where great. Some of the pubs where a bit rowdy.

Slowly working my way found the thant coastline.

Slowly working my way found the thant coastline. Train station is 20 mins reasonable walking from coast. Victorian Ellington Park has a decent cafe for breakfast and the walk on way to coast. Chalk coastline means stairs down to most beaches and looks a bit brutalist in places. Had a safe feel walking around as a single traveller. Dog friendly. Architecture really amazing in places and lots or renovation going on. Harbour interesting and can sit in cafes under the arches. Not sure about cleanliness of water so not confident to swim here. St Augustines Church worth a visit. King Edwards Park and Pegwell Bay for the replica Viking ship. Not sure about nightlife for younger ones but ideal for older beings. Overall should have spent 2 nights.

We had a lovely stay in the house.

We had a lovely stay in the house. Very clean and cosy with comfortable beds. The owners are very nice people and left us a bottle of fizz and milk. Rained off on the Sunday and managed to cook a nice roast there . Lit the fire, watched a movie pure bliss. Would without doubt stay again. Thank you

Absolutely lovely hotel with great attentive staff. We didn’t actually meet the owners but they kept in touch by text and everything was ready for us including a lovely coffee machine and a fridge which was really useful as we’d brought our own food with us. The sea view was amazing and Ramsgate was a fabulous place to have our anniversary night. We hope to revisit soon. Thanks Corrine for a very special place to stay. Lots of free parking a couple of streets away too.

Upon arrival I was greeted by Joshua who talked me through the facilities and basic rules. He was very attentive and gave me some good local information for places to eat. My job meant that I was getting back to the hotel very late so alas I never woke up in time to sample breakfast. In all a comfortable stay and the owner Gary was very friendly too when I was checking out. I will definitely return to this hotel when I'm next in Ramsgate.

The room was a good size as was the bathroom, the bed was very comfortable. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. This is in a great position close to the beach and town plus it has beautiful views from the lounge and dining rooms. Unfortunately we didn’t use the dining room but menus looked good. I would highly recommend it for a stay in Ramsgate.

The room was clean tidy and well presented, albeit a little on the small size but worked well for us, The staff were attentive and the included breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent. An ideal hotel to explore this part of Kent
