Aberdour Hotel, Stables Rooms & Beer Garden, hotel in Queensferry

A friendly, family-run hotel located in one of Fife's picturesque coastal villages, specializing in fresh fare, using local Scottish produce where possible.

We stayed here the last night of our trip to Scotland. I chose this place partly because of cost, partly because of location and distance to airport. This place was built in the 1600’s, I could only imagine the tales that could be told of all the things that happened there. The restaurant served really great food and everyone in the place was very hospitable.

A nice little get away for a night after a heavy weekend. Cracking hotel and fantastic views of the 3 bridges over The Forth. Some nice pubs along the way too. Some modern and some with a more local rustic feel.

Queensferry is a lovely place to walk around.

Queensferry is a lovely place to walk around. There are lots of excellent restaurants and coffee shops. I had lunch at the Railbridge Bistro and a lovely dinner at the Thirty Knots restaurant. There are nice little shops to browse in. Queensferry is very near Edinburgh and there is an excellent train service into the city from Dalmeny Station.

Great place to base yourself for trips to Edinburgh or Livingston. Our son loved watching the trains cross the forth rail bridge, the aquarium and the ice cream at the little parlour. Breakfast at down the hatch was also delicious.

On this occasion, I did not stay long but it is a very interesting place with easy access to all parts of Scotland thanks to the Forth Bridges. There are small shops as well as supermarkets and lots of lovely places to eat, most with spectacular views while you eat. I think the best thing is just wandering around on foot, without needing a car, and exploring.

We stayed at Orocco Pier in the middle of the High Street which has fantastic views of the Three Bridges over the Forth River. Enjoyed a great meal at Scott’s at Port Edgar Marina. Free parking for customers. Lovely cafes and coffee shops available. Parking can be difficult but we’ve managed each time we’ve visited.

Reception staff were cheerful and helpful. Shuttle to airport was arranged at short notice without any issues and free of charge. Shuttle driver was gregarious and talkative (especially for such an early drive!). The hotel ambience was lovely and cosy with it's moody interiors. The room was a decent size and had everything we needed. Everything was lovely and clean. The hotel itself was a short walk to a Tesco and the bus stop into Edinburgh.

A very cosy-posh house in a quaint area with lots of ice-cream parlours and picturesque view of the Forth Bridge. Kitchen was well equipped with treats like biscuits, chocolates, cereal and coffee options which my family enjoyed. Fresh roses on the dining table, bath robes like a 5 star hotel!

Best experience I had while traveling around Scotland. Such a nice hotel in this cute little Scottish village. The room was spacious, with a full mini bar and everything you needed. Both shower and bathtub in the bathroom. I really enjoyed my stay here.
