Travelling with my eldest laddie to attend a few events at the annual Scottish Geology Trust Festival, we'd lost hope of finding somewhere to stay near Edinburgh that wouldn't break the bank. And then we found this place!! After being horribly let down by another local hotel the previous night, Orocco Pier felt like a gift from the Gods.
Staff: Genuinely warm and welcoming. Lassie on reception even offered to help with luggage. A very nice touch however our long journey had us super thirsty, hungry, and keen to immediately head for...
The Bar: The perfect pint!! Crystal clear, icy cold. Seriously, their pipes must be sparkling. We just caught last orders but arrived too late to try the restaurant. No big deal grabbing a takeaway pizza in...
Our Rooms: Economy price paid, but not an economy experience. Contemporary artworks everywhere, fabulous massage shower, mini bar with countless options, and a bed that made me feel like I was wrapped in a big fuzzy hug. I live with chronic pain disabilities so I'm a wee bit fussy about mattresses but I wasn't getting to sleep yet due to...
Location: Oh..My...Goodness!!! Wow! Should've been purring by this point but how could we with that view of the Forth Rail Bridge so beautifully illuminated?! A midnight stroll to the back of the hotel to take pics of this marvellous feat of engineering became a 2 hour beachcomb for sea glass and tumbled Victorian pottery accompanied by the sound of gentle waves on the shore. Simply wonderful, and all just metres from their doorstep!
We will definitely be back! Big 10 star plus from us!

Very nice family, lively, could hear the parrot a lot at times. Bathroom we shared with them was mostly clean.

A nice little get away for a night after a heavy weekend. Cracking hotel and fantastic views of the 3 bridges over The Forth. Some nice pubs along the way too. Some modern and some with a more local rustic feel.

Queensferry is a lovely place to walk around.
Queensferry is a lovely place to walk around. There are lots of excellent restaurants and coffee shops. I had lunch at the Railbridge Bistro and a lovely dinner at the Thirty Knots restaurant. There are nice little shops to browse in. Queensferry is very near Edinburgh and there is an excellent train service into the city from Dalmeny Station.

Great place to base yourself for trips to Edinburgh or Livingston. Our son loved watching the trains cross the forth rail bridge, the aquarium and the ice cream at the little parlour. Breakfast at down the hatch was also delicious.
Reception staff were cheerful and helpful. Shuttle to airport was arranged at short notice without any issues and free of charge. Shuttle driver was gregarious and talkative (especially for such an early drive!). The hotel ambience was lovely and cosy with it's moody interiors. The room was a decent size and had everything we needed. Everything was lovely and clean. The hotel itself was a short walk to a Tesco and the bus stop into Edinburgh.
The setting is spectacular especially if the weathers good like it was when we were there. Staff were all very friendly. Room was spacious and liked the little mini bar/fridge unit built into the wardrobe. Breakfast was delicious every day but this wasn’t included. Shower was particularly good in our room. The hotel is a good base point to explore round south queensferry.
We loved Queensferry with its restaurants, coffee and craft shops. The appartment was central, stylish and comfortable. A great find and highly recommend ! The railway station is 1 mile away and the trains run regularly into Edinburgh ( 18 min journey). My husband loved his early morning strolls. We slept so well too!
The location was great in the centre of Queensferry. The hotel owner was very welcoming and gave us a large room just about with a view of the Forth rail bridge.
