We booked breakfast and received a voucher to a nearby restaurant. Very convenient. I can't say too much about location as we only spent the night in Rotterdam as we were beginning a cruise the following day.
This historic hotel, built in 1779, has free parking and an excellent location about 650 ft from Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth Harbour Train Station, Gunwharf Quays and Spinnaker Tower.
The Ship Leopard hotel is just 2 minutes from Portsmouth Harbor railway station and 3 minutes away from the Historic dockyard.

The staff were very friendly and allowed us to park our car before we checked in, so we could explore the area when we arrived. I emailed ahead of time to check and they replied very quickly. The rooms was very comfortable, had everything we could possibly need and the view was exactly what I hoped for. Breakfast was really good, lots of selection to choose from and the hot breakfast was well cooked (poached eggs were perfect!). The locations was a stones throw from the Historic Dockyards and Gunwharf quays so was easily walkable to anywhere we wanted to go.I would stay here again when we next come to explore Portsmouth.
Just 4 minutes’ walk from Cosham town center, the The Red Lion by Innkeeper's Collection offers rooms with attached bathroom alongside its bar and pizza kitchen.

Interesting, very clean, hosts were really lovely.
An important harbour for centuries, Portsmouth counts with one of the busiest ferry piers in the United Kingdom, has the oldest dry dock still in use in the world. Its Historic Dockyard is home to famous British ships like Lord Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, the Mary Rose and the HMS Warrior.
In the picturesque Old Town you’ll find typical English pubs, coloured houses, and small independent shops. It also has a Fish Market provided by the city’s small fishing fleet. In Old Portsmouth is possible to find smaller hotels, B&B’s and guest houses, some of them not far from the ferry harbour.
The Gunwharf Quays are a modernly renovated shopping area, home to the Spinnaker Tower, while the centre has an ever-growing number of shops. Don’t miss Commercial Road and the Cascades Shopping Centre. Hotels in Portsmouth’s city centre allow you to be close to everything what the city has to offer.
For relaxing moments, Portsdown Hill allows panoramic views over the city and the Isle of Wight. During summer, its sandy beaches are a must.

Good selection of choices for eating and drinking
As the island city it is compact, so nothing is very far. It also benefits from being relatively flat with lots of seating which makes walking practical option

First time staying near Portsmouth and third time visiting...
First time staying near Portsmouth and third time visiting the Historic Dockyard to see the Mary Rose and museum, HMS Victory and HMS Warrior. This time also stepped aboard the M-33 and the various buildings housing the ship figureheads, Nelson information and Boathouse 4. Lucky in contrast, to also have the aircraft carriers Prince of Wales and Elizabeth moored nearby. We spent 1.5 days at the dockyard and still couldn't fit in the water bus, submarine or explosion museum. The Spinnaker tower is perfect for watching the shipping come and go and for having a cream tea high above ground. The many ferries and hovercraft make getting to the Isle of Wight easy. The Gun Wharf shopping centre nearby has a good selection of shops and restaurants and further along the coastline, the round and square towers to see. Further along the coast towards Southsea, there is adventure golf, arcades, aquarium, D-day landing museum and The Briny, fish restaurant which is well worth a visit.

Portsmouth is a busy city, with many attractions many of course to do with the Navy, and other forces, we visited the D day experience on this occasion which we really enjoyed, there are a large number of eateries and bars, as you would expect in a city the size of Portsmouth.

Lots to see and do in Portsmouth, the historic dockyard itself can keep you going for two days. Plenty of up-market shops if shopping is your thing at Gunwharf Quays which leads to the harbour with restaurants, pubs, Spinnaker Tower and boat trips of the harbour. Plenty of other attractions close to hand as well.

Great place to stay. I reserved it for my husband Mark.
Great place to stay. I reserved it for my husband Mark. He reports that it's a traditional English B&B style setup close to the sea, various historical sites, and good restauurants and pubs. The place was immaculate and peaceful too. Best of all though were the hosts, Rahul and his mum, the kindest and most thoughtful hosts you'll ever encounter. They do a great trad English breakfast, and they were very flexible with my check out time. Also helpful with directions and very considerate in terms of helping me get around. Thank you both!

I arrived to a very friendly reception greeting, Check in was smooth and the room was exceptional for what had been described as a "budget room" Breakfast and dinner were superb and dinner prices were fantastic. Food so good I tried to seek out the chef to thank him personally. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Portsmouth.
Everything, decor, lovely size room, decor of room, breakfast was great, view from room, overlooking Portsmouth Harbour also parking at rear of hotel, would definitely stay here again
Great view of Portsmouth harbour and HMS Warrior from the room. Ideally positioned for the early morning ferry to France. 15 minutes away in a car from the hotels secure carpark.
