Set in a converted cluster of fisherman’s houses along Portree Harbor the hotel offers plenty of character and quirks. There are 17 bedrooms with attached bathroom with all expected facilities.

Great upper end boutique hotel feel. Great Bar and absolutely fantastic breakfast! Best scrambled eggs and fruit I’ve had in a long time. Hostess / Server “Sue” was an absolute joy!
Overlooking Portree’s quaint harbor, this contemporary hotel serves fresh produce from Skye and the surrounding Scottish Highlands in its restaurant, Dulse & Brose.

It is a really quaint town and easy to walk around.
It is a really quaint town and easy to walk around. A variety of places to eat although some difficult to get into, and needed bookings. Went to Dunvegan Castle which was very interesting and on a boat trip to view from the sea and hopefully see some wildlife which we also really enjoyed. The local inhabitants are really friendly and seem to enjoy tourists. Public transport east to navigate, on time and clean

Absolutely stunning! The whole island is just magnificent.
Absolutely stunning! The whole island is just magnificent. The town of Portree is beautiful and full of lovely people, cute stores with local products and tasty food in its many restaurants. Definitely recommend making a reservation if you want to eat at a specific restaurant. The bus drivers are the nicest people. Stunning view all around the town. Can recommend Don's taxi service - a very reliable gentleman. Also have to recommend Real Scottish Journeys and their tour of the Isle of Skye, we had the best day! Be careful, cell service can be difficult and google maps unreliable in places. Best to ask a local if you're unsure about anything, they were so kind.
We also went on a boat trip which was a little disappointing. The views were stunning, of course, but it was very focused on watching sea eagles. We spent most of the 2 hours waiting for them to fly around and catch a fish they threw in the sea for them and didn't go very far away from Portree.
Be careful on the streets and considerate and you'll have a wonderful time.

We used Portree as our base for 2 days of photography tours of Skye. Portree had more to explore than we had time for in our plans. It was simple for us to get around on foot. We would welcome an opportunity to visit Portree again.

Quite a pretty town with exactly what you’d expect, or; gift shops, cafe’s, etc. Not particularly large. Overlooks an inlet with individually painted cottages along the quay.
For a great lunch, go to Birch’s

One of the best hotels I've stayed in! Taigh Scalpaigh is modern comfort at its best. The room was so comfortable and stylish. Stunning views from the room and from the breakfast area. On a clear day, you can actually see the Old man of Storr while eating breakfast! The location is perfect, only 6 min drive to Portree. Our host even left cupcakes and treats in our room which was a welcomed surprise after a long journey to get there. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Skye.
The Apartment was a great place for our short stay on the Isle of Skye.
Allocated Parking Space for Each Apartment, to the left of them meant everyone had close access.
Basic Tea/Coffee provided on arrival. Able to cook our meals and Sky Access on the TV, appreciated.
Bedroom was comfortable.
10 minute walk takes you to the harbour heart of Portree where Restaurants and Food shop are available.
Would Recommend.
What a lovely hotel in the perfect position overlooking Portree harbour.
The room we had was huge. Very comfortable bed , lovely linen and very large. The bathroom was massive with bath and separate shower which was superb.
The restaurant was perfect for our needs and breakfast the next morning was yummy.
All in all, we have no complaints and only high praise for this wonderful hotel.
The location and views from the balcony are kickass.
It is a small hotel with only a few rooms, but the overall feel of the hotel was very nice and warm.
The staff was also very sweet and helpful.
We stayed on the ground floor room and the room as well as bathroom were very spacious.
Walking distance from the central Portree area.
Highly recommended hotel
