Maryculter House, hotel in Maryculter

With a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Dee, this charming Scottish mansion dates back to 1225 AD, and was once home to the Knights Templar.

My review is somewhat impacted by the poor customer service we received, which was only improved by a lovely young lady who attended to us in the AM. The bed was comfortable enough and it was great to wake up to ducks outside on the lake. As with previous reviews the rooms are quite dated and some renovations and painting are taking place. The golf courses across the water is magical and the accommodation is located close to town. Parking is very straight forward, there didn't appear to be many other staying there at the time. We didn't see any other guests apart from breakfast.

Malmaison Aberdeen, hotel in Maryculter

Malmaison Aberdeen is a stunning luxury hotel with sumptuous rooms, a sophisticated brasserie, a diverse spa and endless exquisite designs, style and flair.

We had arranged to meet friends here for dinner, and as we live out of town decided to book in for the night. The hotel looked beautiful as the Christmas decorations were still up and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly. We were given a room on the lower ground floor that had recently been refurbished and it was absolutely stunning, immaculately clean, with loads of space. We had drinks in the bar when our friends arrived before enjoying a fantastic meal in the restaurant. We were absolutely delighted with every aspect of our stay and would not hesitate to come back again.

Superb very comfortable room good facilities beautiful grounds in west end of city. We were staying over from Christmas Eve and the next morning hotel had left Santa sock on the door containing some very nice gifts - far far in excess of any expectation amazing that they did this not sure any other hotel would. Staff very welcoming all in all a great stay.

I booked last minute on the day, for one night after a change of plans. We spent another night nearby, and if I'd known how nice Maryculter was, I would definitely have stayed both nights. Fantastic hotel, really friendly staff, great location.

Some of the hotel was very smart and as per the photos on booking.com. Our room was very small in comparison to the photos on the website, and the decor was not of the same standard. I definitely wouldn't call it "delux". However it was pleasant and good value for the £80 we paid (incl breakfast). I'm not sure what the suites on the photos are specified as if our room was delux.

A fabulous hotel. So much history to this hotel. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. The staff couldn't do enough for you. So friendly and just lovely. It's refreshing to stay in a hotel where the staff seem happy in their jobs and always smiling we stayed over 2 nights with my brother and his wife and we all loved this hotel. Great location as only 10 mins into city and we visited the fireballs in Stonehaven for Hogmanay as only a 20 minute drive away which was Superb. Definitely be back.

Maryculter House Hotel is just fabulous. My wife and I have stayed many times, and it never disappoints. Staff are excellent, the location is serene, and the hotel is so comfortable. We will continue to return while it continues to deliver the high-quality stay we enjoy. Our dog also settles immediately we arrive.
