I loved the salmon dish as part of the main course menu, also the chicken and bacon roulade with pork was top drawer. Never tasted a sauace like it in my life! very rich and a fantastic appetiser.

It’s a walled city in a beautiful setting on the banks of the river Foyle.
Seeped in history, ancient and modern, it’s a creative, lively city. I’ve always found people helpful, witty, generous with their time, proud of their city and great craic.

Derry is a really lovely city with lots to see and do.
Derry is a really lovely city with lots to see and do. We were at the International Choral Festival and there was such a great buzz Lots of nice places to eat and drink and the people are so warm and friendly. We did the Bogside Walking Tour with Jimmy Toye, an excellent guide, very informative but heart rendering. We also walked the City Walls early on Sunday morning and there is lots to see along the way, a nice craft village , Foyle Bookshop with lots of great second hand books. Nice shops, coffee etc. The Peace Bridge is so nice, lots of great city murals. It is a really great city.

We liked learning about all Derry’s history from as far back as back the Stone Age, building a walled city, The Troubles, and until more modern peaceful times. My wife and I also both enjoyed the new Derry Girls experience! Beautiful city and very walkable.

The entire city felt unsafe - very different from Donegal.
The entire city felt unsafe - very different from Donegal. I’m sympathetic to the residents and aware of its legitimately troubled history, but still was unprepared for seeing so many indicators of a high-crime area. A check of Google street view might have helped us make a more informed decision on whether or not to stay here with our children.

Wish I had stayed longer to get around the city walls and museums. Good shopping within easy walking distance from our hotel. Anyone with mobility difficulties may find the steep hills a problem. Fantastic food in The Exchange Restaurant. All in all good experience and value for money in Derry/Londonderry.

We loved DERRY.
We loved DERRY. The people were so open and friendly and positive about the future.
We were struck how they were working on restorative justice for their people who had gone through The Troubles and there didn't appear to be any open hostility towards those who had caused them harm.
They have a great sense of humour and a way of looking at life that is genuinely funny, endearing and engaging.

Everything was absolutely stunning. Upon arrival we were greeted by Emmett who was extremely helpful and welcoming. We hadn’t been in Derry before and he was very good to recommended things for us to do during our brief stay. The rooms were just so so beautiful and I loved the theme of Irish literature. Would highly recommend spending an evening in the Oscar Wilde room. Unbelievably luxurious hotel for such a reasonable price. You’d be silly not to book here when staying in Derry! So close to the city centre.
Location excellent (high side of town opposite castle walls, short walk to Bogside murals), safe paid parking nearby in Bishopsgate St and lovely character rooms. Kieran has a warm and curious personality - great company at breakfast.
Would recommend dining at Bishopsgate Hotel (200m from No8) - ambience, food, service and price excellent.
The property was clean and well maintained. The facilities were good and the 3 rooms were comfortable and all en-suite. The location was walking distance to the center of Londonderry. The keys were delivered with a code, which gave us flexibility in arrival time.
A very beautiful small hotel handy to the city centre.
