A lovely little town with the river running through it.
A lovely little town with the river running through it. It is very quiet, but seems to have a nice community. We were welcomed at the heritage centre where there was lots of information about the area. Everything is within walking distance, including the station. The convenience store has a good range of food and other articles such as maps.
There are several restaurants, tea shops and pubs. For a bit of luxury book a meal at the Drovers Arms, with an Egon Ronay chef, a lovely eveningl. A few miles up the road is The Trout at Beulah which provided great food and drink at a good price, so we went there most nights!
We had some lovely walks in the surrounding countryside, there are some fantastic views.

Brilliant place for walkers. Stunning scenery and loads of information available on different length walks (online or in local establishments). It's a small town but it has a few places to eat and is a great base for anyone active. Caffi Sosban and the Drovers Rest provided us with lovely meals

We had a perfect six night stay in Kilsby Cottage. It is set in a private and peaceful location with stunning views over a valley. The cottage was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The owners Matthew and Caroline live onsite and are very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The cottage is only a mile away from the town of Llanwrtyd Wells where you will find a very well-stocked shop next to the petrol station and several places to eat.
We stayed at the Hotel whilst we were visiting our son who works in the same village. The staff and locals were very friendly with the bar area having a real "pub feel". There is ample seating outside which would be fantastic when the weather is good. The cooked breakfast was more than enough with the option to have serial to start with which we did not have.
Very welcoming, clean, comfortable and organised, everything was made to be convenient. Secure bike storage for a dozen bikes, very pretty location with great roads in every direction, local shops/pubs etc. and a breakfast to die for, perfect!
